TYC DELEGATES URGED TO PACK FOR COLD GWERU WEATHER

Delegates travelling to the 2026 Territorial Youth Councils at Chaplin High School in Gweru are advised to prepare for cold mornings and evenings, with generally sunny and dry conditions expected throughout the event.
Forecasts indicate daytime temperatures of around 22–24°C, while overnight and early morning temperatures are expected to drop to between 3°C and 7°C.
As thousands of young Salvationists converge on Gweru from Thursday, 6 August, through Sunday, 9 August, delegates are encouraged to pack warm clothing to remain comfortable during early morning prayers, evening meetings and outdoor activities.
Although no significant rainfall is expected, the winter chill will be noticeable, particularly before sunrise and after sunset.
Delegates are encouraged to include warm jerseys, jackets or coats, scarves, gloves, warm hats, thick socks, comfortable closed shoes, and extra blankets or warm sleeping bags if staying in school accommodation.
Layered clothing is recommended so delegates can easily adjust to the warmer afternoon temperatures.
Territorial Youth Councils organisers have urged all delegates to arrive well prepared to ensure they remain healthy and comfortable throughout the four-day gathering as they participate in worship, Bible teaching, sports and fellowship.
