THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD SHALL DO EXPLOITS

Central Message
The deeper our knowledge of God, the stronger our faith becomes; and the stronger our faith becomes, the greater our capacity to influence our generation for God.

1. INTRODUCTION — WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO KNOW GOD?

Daniel 11:32 gives us a powerful progression:
KNOW GOD → BE STRONG → DO EXPLOITS → IMPACT YOUR GENERATION
The Scripture does not say:
“Those who know about God shall do exploits.”
It says:
“Those who know their God…”
There is a difference between knowing about God and knowing God.
You can know:
• Bible stories
• Christian terminology
• Church traditions
• Worship songs
• Sermons
• Doctrines
…and still not know God deeply.
Paul said:
“That I may know him…” — Philippians 3:10
Paul was already an apostle. He had preached Christ, established churches and experienced God’s power.
Yet his desire was:
“That I may know Him.”
Knowing God is a lifelong pursuit.
Ask the congregation:
Do you know God, or do you only know about God?

2. WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD?

A. They know God personally
Jesus said:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” — John 17:3
Christianity is not merely religion.
It is relationship.
You must know God personally.
Not because your pastor knows Him.
Not because your parents know Him.
Not because your spouse knows Him.
Not because you attend church.
You must know God for yourself.

B. They know God’s character
When you know someone, you understand their character.
People who know God understand that He is:
• Faithful
• Holy
• Loving
• Merciful
• Powerful
• Sovereign
• Just
• True to His Word
Therefore, when circumstances change, they don’t change their opinion of God.
Circumstances do not determine who God is.
God remains God whether you are on the mountain or in the valley.

C. They know God’s Word
You cannot grow in the knowledge of God while neglecting His Word.
Psalm 119:105 says:
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
The Word reveals:
• God’s character
• God’s will
• God’s promises
• God’s standards
• God’s purposes
If you want to know God, know His Word.

D. They trust God
Knowing God produces confidence.
David stood before Goliath because he knew the God behind him.
1 Samuel 17:37:
“The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me…”
David was not confident because Goliath was small.
He was confident because God was greater.

E. They obey God
1 John 2:3 says:
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”
Obedience is evidence that we know God.
You cannot claim deep intimacy with God while deliberately living against His Word.
Knowing God should change how we live.

3. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU KNOW GOD?

Daniel 11:32 gives us the first result:
“The people that do know their God shall be strong…”
Notice:
KNOWLEDGE OF GOD PRODUCES STRENGTH.
Not physical strength.
Spiritual strength.
Emotional strength.
Moral strength.
Strength to stand.
Strength to resist temptation.
Strength to endure difficulty.
Strength to keep believing.
Strength to obey God.

Ephesians 6:10
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Your strength is not supposed to come from yourself.
Your strength comes from the Lord.
When you know God, you can say:
“I may not know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow.”

4. WHAT ARE THE EXPLOITS?

Daniel says:
“…and do exploits.”
Biblical exploits are not about becoming famous.
They are about God accomplishing His purposes through people who trust Him.
A. EXPLOITS OF FAITH
Hebrews 11:6:
“But without faith it is impossible to please him…”
Faith allows ordinary people to participate in extraordinary things.
Noah built an ark.
Abraham left his country.
Moses confronted Pharaoh.
David confronted Goliath.
Esther stood before the king.
The disciples preached the Gospel.
Faith makes you attempt what you could never accomplish in your own strength.

B. EXPLOITS OF COURAGE
Joshua 1:9:
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid…”
Knowing God gives you courage to stand when others compromise.
Daniel 1:8 says:
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…”
Daniel was surrounded by Babylonian culture.
But Babylon could not change Daniel.
An exploit can be refusing to compromise.
When everyone cheats, you remain honest.
When everyone compromises, you remain faithful.
When everyone follows the crowd, you follow Christ.

C. EXPLOITS OF SOLUTIONS
Joseph did not only interpret Pharaoh’s dream.
He gave Pharaoh a strategy.
Genesis 41.
God gave Joseph wisdom to help preserve an entire nation.
People who know God should become solution providers.
Where there is a problem:
Ask God, “What can I do?”
Don’t only complain.
Don’t only criticize.
Don’t only identify the problem.
Become part of the solution.

D. EXPLOITS OF KINGDOM INFLUENCE
Matthew 5:14:
“Ye are the light of the world.”
Jesus did not say:
You are the light of the church.
He said:
“You are the light of the world.”
God has positioned you in:
• Business
• Government
• Education
• Medicine
• Engineering
• Mining
• Media
• Family
• Community
• Ministry
Your position is an opportunity for Kingdom influence.

5. WHAT IMPACT DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE ON THE WORLD?

Matthew 5:13:
“Ye are the salt of the earth…”
Salt influences what it touches.
Light influences the darkness around it.
Therefore, Christianity should not only be visible inside church.
Our faith must influence society.

WHERE THERE IS CORRUPTION — WE BRING INTEGRITY
We should be trustworthy.
WHERE THERE IS HATRED — WE BRING LOVE
We represent Christ.
WHERE THERE IS CONFUSION — WE BRING WISDOM
We seek God’s direction.
WHERE THERE IS DARKNESS — WE BRING LIGHT
We don’t participate in the darkness.
WHERE THERE IS HOPELESSNESS — WE BRING HOPE
We point people to Christ.
WHERE THERE ARE PROBLEMS — WE BRING SOLUTIONS
We use our gifts and abilities for God’s purposes.

6. THE WORLDVIEW OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW GOD

People who know God don’t interpret everything only through what they see.
They have a Kingdom worldview.
The world says:
“Protect yourself.”
Jesus says:
“Love your neighbour.”
The world says:
“Promote yourself.”
Jesus says:
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
The world says:
“Success is what you possess.”
The Kingdom says:
Success is fulfilling God’s purpose.
The world says:
“If you cannot see it, it cannot happen.”
Faith says:
“With God all things are possible.”

7. HOW DO WE APPLY THIS TODAY?

1. KNOW GOD
Develop your relationship with Him.
Pray.
Study Scripture.
Worship.
Seek Him.
Walk with Him.

2. KNOW HIS WORD
Don’t build your faith on feelings.
Build your faith on God’s Word.
What God has said must become the foundation of what you believe.

3. OBEY WHAT YOU KNOW
Knowledge without obedience produces religious information.
Don’t just hear the Word.
Do the Word.

4. TRUST GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES
Your circumstances may change.
God does not.
When you don’t understand what God is doing:
Trust who God is.

5. USE YOUR GIFTS
Ask:
What has God placed in me?
Your gift is not merely for personal benefit.
Your gift is an instrument for Kingdom impact.

6. BECOME A SOLUTION
Where has God placed you?
What problem can you solve?
Who can you help?
What can you build?
What can you improve?
Don’t only pray for God to use somebody else.
Tell God:
“Here am I. Use me.”

8. CONCLUSION — KNOW GOD AND DO EXPLOITS

Daniel 11:32 gives us the divine progression:
THEY KNOW GOD

The world does not merely need Christians who can quote Scripture.
The world needs Christians who know the God of Scripture.
People who know God:
Stand when others fall.
Believe when others doubt.
Obey when others compromise.
Serve when others seek recognition.
Bring solutions where others see problems.
Shine where others see darkness.
Represent Christ wherever God has positioned them.

FINAL CHALLENGE
Ask the congregation:
Do I really know God?
Not:
“Do I attend church?”
Not:
“Do I know Scripture?”
Not:
“Do I know Christian language?”
But:
DO I KNOW GOD?
Because the promise is:
“The people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
Your generation is waiting for people who know God.
Your family needs someone who knows God.
Your workplace needs someone who knows God.
Your business needs someone who knows God.
Your community needs someone who knows God.
Your church needs people who know God.
God is looking for people who will know Him deeply, stand strongly, and impact their generation
