Saint Joseph reminds us that holiness is often found in quiet faithfulness and humble obedience to God. Though he spoke no recorded words in Scripture, his actions revealed deep trust, strength, and love. He cared for Jesus and Mary with patience and courage, choosing responsibility even in uncertain moments. Saint Joseph teaches us that true greatness does not seek attention but quietly serves with sincerity. In a world filled with noise and distraction, his life encourages us to remain faithful in our duties, protect those entrusted to us, and trust God even when the path is unclear. Through his example, we learn that simple acts of love, hard work, and silent sacrifice have great value in Godโ€™s eyes. Like Saint Joseph, may we live with humility, faith, and steadfast hearts each day.

Saint Joseph, faithful protector of the Holy Family and humble servant of God, we ask for your loving intercession today. Teach us to trust God with quiet confidence, especially during moments of uncertainty and struggle. Help us become patient, responsible, and faithful in our daily lives. Guide fathers, workers, and all who carry heavy responsibilities, that they may find strength and peace through Godโ€™s grace. Inspire us to protect and care for our families with sincere love and gentle hearts. When we grow tired or discouraged, remind us that God is always near. Bless our work, our homes, and our plans for the future. Through your prayers, may we grow closer to Christ, remain faithful in every season, and live each day with humility, courage, and enduring faith. Amen.

*EIGHTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME*

*MEMORIAL OF MARY MOTHER OF THE CHURCH*

*FIRST READING*
โ€œThe offspring of the woman will crush yoursโ€

*A reading from the book of Genesis (GENESIS 3:9-15, 20)*

After Adam had eaten of the tree, the Lord God called him and asked him, โ€œWhere are you?โ€ He answered, โ€œI heard you in the garden; but I was afraid, because I was naked, so I hid myself.โ€ Then he asked, โ€œWho told you that you were naked? You have eaten, then, from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat!โ€ The man replied, โ€œThe woman whom you put here with me โ€“ she gave me fruit from the tree, and so I ate it. โ€œThe LORD God then asked the woman, โ€œWhy did you do such a thing?โ€ The woman answered โ€œThe serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.โ€ Then the LORD God said to the serpent: โ€œBecause you have done this, you shall be banned from all the animals and from all the wild creatures; on your belly shall you crawl, and dirt shall you eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will stride at you head, while you strike at his heel.โ€ The man called his wife Eve, because she became the mother of all those who live.

*The Word of the Lord*

*RESPONSORIAL PSALM*
Taken from Psalm 86 (87)

And the response is:
*R/. Of you are told glorious things, O city of God!*

On the holy mountain is his city
cherished by the Lord.
The Lord prefers the gates of Zion
to all Jacobโ€™s dwellings. *R*/.

Of you are told glorious things,
O city of God!
โ€˜Zion shall be called โ€œMotherโ€
for all shall be her children *R*/.

It is he, the Lord Most High,
who gives each his place.
In his register of peoples he writes:
โ€˜These are her children,โ€™
and while they dance they will sing:
โ€˜In you all find their home,โ€™ *R*/.

*GOSPEL ACCLAMATION*

*Alleluia*
โ€œHappy are you, holy Virgin Mary, and most worthy of all praise, for from you arose the sun of justice, Christ our Godโ€.
*Alleluia*

*GOSPEL*
โ€œBehold your son. Behold your mother.โ€

*A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (JOHN 19:25-34)*

Stand by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his motherโ€™s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciples there whom he loved, he said to his mother. โ€œWoman, behold, your son.โ€ Then he said to the disciple, โ€œBehold you mother,โ€ And from that hour the disciples took her into his home. After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled. Jesus said, โ€œI thirst.โ€ There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, โ€œIt is finished.โ€ And bowing his head he handed over the spirit. Now since it was preparation day, in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the Sabbath, for the Sabbath day of that week was a solemn one, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken and they be taken down. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and them of the other one who was crucified with Jesus. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out.
