JACOB, DON'T BECOME A SUDDEN ESAU BECAUSE OF THE BLESSING
"Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright." Hebrews 12:16
One of the greatest dangers in ministry is not persecution. It is not poverty. It is not even opposition.
It is success without consecration.
Many men survived the wilderness but were destroyed in the palace. They endured obscurity but fell when recognition arrived.
They remained humble until the blessing became visible.
Jacob, hear me.
Don't become a sudden Esau because God has finally blessed you.
The blessing was never given to change your nature. It was given to reveal God's faithfulness.
The greatest tragedy is not losing money. It is losing the heart that qualified you for the blessing.
Jacob wrestled with God. Esau only lived for his appetite.
Do not allow your present abundance to produce the same appetite that destroyed Esau.
When God begins to lift you, pride will knock on your door before greater glory does.
When invitations increase, don't reduce your prayer life.
When honor increases, don't decrease your humility.
When people begin to celebrate you, don't stop weeping before God.
Remember where He found you.
Remember the lonely prayer meetings.
Remember the empty pockets.
Remember the tears no one saw.
Remember the days when only heaven believed in your calling.
Never allow yesterday's altar to become today's museum.
The blessing is dangerous when it is not carried by a broken spirit.
Esau valued the temporary above the eternal.
He exchanged destiny for appetite.
Many ministers are making the same exchange today.
The blessing should increase your dependence on God, not your confidence in yourself.
If your bank account grows but your altar grows cold, you are becoming Esau.
If your influence expands but your character shrinks, you are becoming Esau.
If your platform becomes bigger than your prayer life, you are becoming Esau.
