Todays sermon focused on the following:
📖 Acts 12:6–19

When God Opens Doors, Nothing Stays Locked

King Herod arrested Peter after killing James, intending to execute him. Peter was heavily guarded in prison, chained between soldiers, with guards at every entrance.

But the church responded with earnest prayer. Believers gathered together and cried out to God.

That night, God sent an angel. Peter’s chains fell off, the prison gates opened, and he was led out safely. What seemed impossible became possible through the power of God.

Key Lessons:

• God can open doors no matter how difficult the situation is
• God’s power is not limited by human impossibility
• Prayer must be joined with faith that God can answer

When Peter arrived at the house where believers were praying, they were filled with joy and amazement. Peter pointed them back to God, declaring that it was the Lord who rescued him.

Responses to God’s work:
• Joy
• Amazement
• Worship

Even though the enemy tried to stop the church, God’s purpose continued to advance.

If God has called you, no opposition, challenge, or impossible situation can stop His plan.

Just as Peter was delivered from prison, God is able to deliver sinners from the bo***ge of sin through Jesus Christ.

“My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.”

Sunday 10th May sermon:
The Enemy Seeks to Harm, We Seek the Lord
From Acts 11:27–30 and Acts 12:1–5

The gospel had spread from Jerusalem to Antioch, where many Gentiles believed in the Lord. The church in Antioch matured in faith, supported believers in Judea during a coming famine, and sent help through Barnabas and Saul.

The focus then shifts to Jerusalem, where persecution against the church intensified. Herod violently attacked the church, killed James the brother of John, and arrested Peter after seeing that it pleased the Jews. Peter was heavily guarded in prison, awaiting trial after Passover.

Behind this persecution was the work of the devil, who seeks to destroy the people of God. Scripture reminds believers that the real battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil.

The church’s response was not violence, complaining, or giving up. Instead, “earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.” The believers trusted the Lord completely, knowing that He alone could strengthen and preserve them.

Ephesians 6 teaches believers to be strong in the Lord and to put on the whole armor of God: truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer.

The sermon reminded believers that suffering is part of the Christian life. The apostles themselves suffered persecution and death for their faith. Christians should not be surprised when opposition comes, but should stand firm in the Lord.

The message also pointed to Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for sinners. He carried our sins on the cross so that those who trust in Him may receive forgiveness and eternal life. Today is the day of salvation.

Sunday Reflection: The Harvest Is Plentiful 🌾

Today’s message from Matthew 9:35–38 reminds us of a powerful truth: the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Jesus moved through towns teaching, healing, and proclaiming the gospel. When He looked at the crowds, He was filled with compassion—seeing people as harassed, helpless, and spiritually lost. Even today, the world is full of people searching for hope, truth, and direction.

The need is great. Souls are hungry. The harvest is ready.
But the challenge remains: Who will step in as a laborer?

We are called to:

Recognize the deep spiritual need around us
Have compassion like Christ
Share the gospel in our daily lives
Pray earnestly for more workers in God’s field

It’s not just about seeing the problem—it’s about responding. Whether at school, work, home, or online, every moment is an opportunity to point someone to hope in Christ.

🙏 Question for reflection: Are you a laborer in God’s harvest?

Let’s not remain spectators. Let’s be faithful workers—praying, serving, and sharing the good news while there is still time.

Today's sermon, 'From Jerusalem to the World — Acts 11:19–30'

The early church faced a major shift. After persecution scattered believers, many preached only to Jews. But some broke that pattern and shared the gospel with Gentiles. The result: the hand of the Lord was with them, and many believed.

When news reached Jerusalem, Barnabas was sent to Antioch. He saw God’s grace, encouraged the believers to remain faithful, and helped strengthen the church. He later brought Saul, and for a whole year they taught many. It was in Antioch that believers were first called Christians.

As the church grew, it also matured. When a famine was foretold, the disciples responded in obedience. Each gave according to ability to support believers in Judea. A young Gentile church became a source of help to others.

Key Lessons:
The church can limit itself by staying in what is familiar.
God confirms His work when we obey Him.
Obedience leads to growth and maturity.
The gospel is for all people.
Every believer has a responsibility to serve, give, and care for others.

The question remains:
Are we only learning, or are we obeying?

Today's sermon focused on:

📖 Acts 11:1–18

God’s Grace Has No Boundaries

The apostles heard that Gentiles had received the Word of God, and Peter was questioned for associating with them. He explained the vision he received: what God has made clean must not be called unclean. The Spirit led him, and the Holy Spirit fell on the Gentiles just as it had on the believers before.

Key Truths:
• Do not think anyone is beyond God’s favor
• The way of salvation is open to all
• God’s plan of salvation requires acceptance
God broke the division between people. Through Jesus Christ, salvation is available to all—Jews and Gentiles alike.
Those who heard Peter’s explanation fell silent and glorified God, saying:
“Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

Response:
Salvation is not earned by goodness
Salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ
No one is too sinful
No one is insignificant
No one is beyond God’s grace
Each person must personally accept this gift of salvation.

Call:
Believe in Jesus Christ
Accept the message of salvation
Respond in faith
God’s grace has no boundaries.

Today Pastor Andrew Muwowo (Rtd) looked at Ezra 7:10, where Ezra "set his heart" to study, obey, and teach God's law. His example gives us a clear structure: Heart → Study → Obey → Teach.

But Ezra isn't the hero—he points us to Jesus. Only Jesus had a perfectly devoted heart, perfectly knew the law, perfectly obeyed it, and is the ultimate teacher.

For us today:
✅ Following Christ starts in the heart—not outward show.
âś… We must study Scripture and obey what we learn.
✅ And we must invest in others—raise up the next generation to teach and live God's Word.

Who are you investing in? Let’s not just complain about young people—let’s disciple them.
