POPE LEO XIV BECAME POPE NOT BECAUSE HE WAS AN AMERICAN, BUT BECAUSE HE WAS CHOSEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

In a time when voices like Donald Trump reduce leadership to politics, power, and ideology, we are reminded that the mission of Pope Leo XIV is something far greater. He was not placed there by political influence or public opinion, but chosen by the Holy Spirit to lead the Church.

He does not speak as a politician defending an agenda, but as a shepherd proclaiming the Gospel.

Criticism may come. Labels may be thrown. But the papacy was never meant to please governments or align with political camps. It exists to speak truth, to call for peace, and to guide souls—even when that message challenges the powerful.

He stands not on political ground, but on sacred ground.

And while the world argues over strength and weakness, the Church remembers that true strength is found in humility, courage, and faithfulness to God’s call.

NO SECULAR DANCING IN CHURCH — ARCHBISHOP PHIRI.

Ndola Archbishop Dr Benjamin Phiri has warned Christians against engaging in forms of dancing during church services that may distract others from worship.

Speaking during his pastoral visit to Holy Trinity Parish in Ndola, Archbishop Phiri emphasized the need for order and reverence during liturgical celebrations.

He noted that while certain moments in the Mass, such as thanksgiving or praise, may involve expressions of joy through movement, these expressions must remain within the boundaries of religious and liturgical practice.

The Archbishop cautioned against adopting dance styles commonly associated with secular settings, stating that these have the potential to shift attention away from the spiritual purpose of the service.

He stressed that the liturgy is a sacred time meant for worship and not entertainment, urging the faithful to ensure that their conduct reflects the solemnity of the occasion.

Archbishop Phiri further warned that distracting behavior, particularly provocative dancing, can make it difficult for others to remain focused and may cause them to lose attention.

He has since called on the faithful to uphold respect and discipline during church services by ensuring that all forms of expression align with the values and teachings of the Church.
