In the Waiting Room

We all have things we’re waiting for—a dream to come to pass, a problem to turn around. When it’s taking longer than we thought, it’s easy to get impatient and think, “When is it ever going to happen?” Sometimes it’s not happening because we’re not prepared for what God has prepared. If you could see what God has in mind, you’d realize you can’t handle it right now. You need more time to develop, to grow, to gain experience.
When you’re in God’s waiting room, you may not see anything changing, but something is happening—patience is working in you. Patience is building you, getting you prepared so you can sustain what God has coming. Your spiritual muscles are getting stronger. Don’t discount the waiting period. Don’t get discouraged because it’s not happening as fast as you like. The longer it takes, the more God has in store. When God knows you’re ready, what you give birth to is going to be much bigger than you think.

A Fresh Supply

When the Israelites were in the desert headed toward the Promised Land, God gave them manna to eat each morning. It was something like bread that formed on the ground and only lasted for one day before spoiling. Every morning you had to gather a fresh supply. Similarly, Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” He didn’t say our weekly bread. Every day you need to go to God for your wisdom and direction. The word “manna” in Hebrew is translated, “What is it?” When we go to God daily for that fresh manna, the right attitude is, “God, what is it that You want me to do? What is the right path today?”
Are you getting your daily manna? Are you checking in to get your brand-new assignment each morning, asking God, “What is it?” It’s available. It has your name on it. Remember, you can’t live off yesterday’s manna. Take time each day to ask God to lead you down the right paths for your life.

Believe Again

You may have big obstacles in your path that you can’t overcome on your own. The good news is that you’re not on your own. You have the most powerful force in the universe breathing in your direction. When He speaks, Red Seas part, blind eyes open, and dreams come back to life. We look at our circumstances in the natural, but He’s a supernatural God. He goes before you, makes your crooked places straight, and fights your battles. No person can stop you—no bad break, no sickness, no failure.
Maybe at one time you believed, you were passionate and excited about life, but things haven’t turned out the way you hoped. You had some bad breaks, some disappointments. God is saying, “It’s time to believe again.” You haven’t seen your best days. What God promised you is still going to come to pass. You haven’t missed too many opportunities. If it had happened sooner, it wouldn’t have been the right time. Now is the time. Stir up your faith. Start believing again.

True to His Word

If you’re spending more time talking about your problems than you are about God’s promises, that’s out of balance. The Scripture says, “God watches over His Word to perform it.” It doesn’t say God watches over our complaints or our begging, “God, please, this isn’t fair. You have to turn this around.” Yes, He’s concerned and sees the wrongs, but what moves Him to act is when He hears you speak His Word. It’s very powerful when you switch over to thanking Him for what He’s promised.
Make a list of what God has promised you and put it on your phone, your bathroom mirror, and your computer, and all through the day put Him in remembrance. God has never failed in the past, and He’s not going to start with you. It may not happen your way or on your timetable, but God is true to His Word. When you’re constantly saying, “God, You promised,” that’s what allows Him to bring promises to pass.

A Crown of Beauty

When someone you love leaves you or a friend walks away for some reason, it’s easy to feel that you’re somehow not smart enough, good enough, attractive enough, or talented enough. You may tell yourself, “If I’d only done this or that better.” It can feel like it’s all your fault. But when somebody leaves you, it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s something wrong with you. It could be the other person has the problem. Nevertheless, the accuser will work overtime trying to convince you that you don’t measure up, that you’re not valuable, and that there’s nothing good in your future.
If this has happened to you, don’t sit around feeling sorry for yourself. No more saying, “This person walked away. I’ll never be happy again.” Say, “No one is taking my crown. God is giving me beauty for these ashes. I know I am fearfully and wonderfully made. What He started in my life, He will finish. I’m still a child of the Most High God.”

Your Water into Wine

Making wine normally is a very lengthy process, but to make the best quality wine, a wine that is aged, takes years. My point is that the first miracle Jesus ever performed, the making of wine from water at the wedding at Cana, was a miracle of acceleration. What in the natural took many years, He did in a moment of time.
You may think it’s going to take years to get well, years to get out of debt, years to accomplish a dream, but don’t rule out the God of acceleration. He has favor, healing, and breakthroughs that can propel you forward. God can take what should take you twenty years and get you there in an instant. Right now, He’s working behind the scenes gathering the water jars and filling them with water. The process has already started. Suddenly, things are going to change. Suddenly, you’re going to find yourself where you could not go on your own. God knows how to turn your water into wine.

Daily Direction

The Scripture says that when we acknowledge God in all our ways, He will direct our path. God has the wisdom, the guidance, and the direction we need, but it doesn’t happen automatically. Every morning you have to go to Him and say, “God, I’m ready for my assignment. Show me what to do and where to go, give me the words to speak, and make the path clear.” This is a daily act of surrender.
Too often we make our plans without consulting God, and then we ask Him to bless them. We wonder why it’s a struggle. The right way is to ask God first. “God, is this what You want me to do? Should I start this project, should I take this trip, should I make this purchase?” If you feel peace about it, go forward. If not, hold off. God knows what’s best for you. He will not only keep you on the right path today, but He will keep you from making major mistakes.

Single Day Turnaround

After thirteen years of being imprisoned in Egypt for a crime he didn't do, there was nothing in Joseph's circumstances that looked as if he would ever accomplish his dream of ruling a nation. But one day Joseph was called before Pharaoh to interpret Pharaoh's dream, and Pharaoh was so impressed that he made Joseph the prime minister of Egypt. On the previous day, if you had told Joseph this would happen, he would have said, Are you kidding? Don t you see these bars? You may be in an unfair situation that seems as though it's never going to turn around. You don't need everyone to be for you; you just need the right people to be for you. God has already lined up people in positions of influence who will open doors you couldn't open and bring you opportunities and promotion that you didn't see coming. As was true for Joseph, you don't have to find them, they will find you. It is the hand of God in your life.
