THE HEART | 1 Samuel 16:1–7
Preacher: Pastor Manda

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

When Samuel went to Jesse’s house to anoint the next king of Israel, he immediately thought Eliab was the one because of his appearance. But God reminded him that He does not judge people the way we do. While Samuel was looking at the outside, God was looking at the heart.

David was not even in the house. He was outside taking care of the sheep, overlooked and forgotten by his own family. Yet while David was caring for sheep, God was preparing him to lead a nation.

This is a powerful reminder for us, especially as young adults. People may reject or overlook you because of your appearance, status, career, relationships, or what you currently have. But being rejected by people does not mean you have been rejected by God.

David was not perfect, but he had a heart that knew how to return to God when he failed.

So don’t spend your life trying to make people choose you. Work on your heart. Let God prepare you.

People may only see the shepherd, but God may already see the king.

Question: Are you more concerned about being chosen by people or being approved by God?

1. THE LOVE OF GOD
• God’s love is immeasurable.
God’s love is so great that it cannot be measured or compared with anything.
• God demonstrated His love by sending His Son.
If you are a believer, you can know that God loves you. He demonstrated that love by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us.
• Jesus came to take away our sin.
There is no sin in Christ. Jesus came to set us free from the power and effects of sin.
• Freedom in Christ changes the way we live.
If you live in Christ and know Him, you will not continue living in habitual sin. Christ calls us to a transformed life.
• Sin disturbs our communion with God.
Sin creates a separation in our fellowship with God. Therefore, we should desire to walk in obedience and remain close to Him.
Key Thought
God’s love does not leave us captive to sin. He sent Jesus to set us free and restore our fellowship with Him.

2. TRUST GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES
• Even when we face difficult and challenging seasons, we must continue to trust in God.
• God is not limited by our circumstances. He can make a way where there seems to be no way.
• Our freedom in Christ does not mean that we will never face difficulties; it means that we can trust God through them.
Key Thought
When there seems to be no way forward, continue trusting God because He is able to make a way.

OVERALL TAKEAWAY
Jesus came to set us free. God’s great love sent His Son to take away our sin, restore our fellowship with Him, and give us hope. Therefore, let us continue to trust God, walk in Christ, and refuse to return to the captivity from which He has set us free.

Theme: Finishing the Year in Victory
Title: How to Finish in Victory
Thesis: Be Fruitful and Multiply
Texts: Psalm 118:23 | Isaiah 43:19–20
Preacher : Pastor Ronny Makweti

How to Walk in Victory

1. Believe Fruitfulness Is Your Heritage (Genesis 1:26–28)

* God created us to be fruitful, multiply, and have dominion.
* Fruitfulness is more than increase—it’s fulfilling God’s purpose through creativity, influence, and stewardship.
* As bearers of God’s image, we have been empowered to produce, lead, and impact our generation.

Key Thought: One seed produces a harvest. God designed your life to multiply.

2. Be Excellent in Your Assignment (Daniel 6:3–4)

* Excellence means going beyond the ordinary and standing out with integrity.
* Daniel distinguished himself because he was faithful, trustworthy, and free from corruption or negligence.
* Excellence positions you for promotion and victory.

3. Walk in Obedience (Isaiah 1:19)

* Willingness is the attitude of the heart.
* Obedience is putting God’s Word into action.
* God desires genuine relationship and wholehearted obedience—not empty religious routines.

Takeaway: Victory comes through living a fruitful life, pursuing excellence, and walking in sincere obedience to God.

*FAREWELL MY EASTLEA ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH FAMILY*

After more than 30 years of Worshiping, Growing in faith and Serving with you, the time has come for me to relocate to a new town. The 30+ years spent at Eastlea Assembly has been a lifetime for me.

I came to this Church on transfer from Evangel Temple in Chingola as a baby Christian and a young bride, with a husband and only one child aged 1. God grew me and increased me here because as I leave today, and despite the loss of my husband and daughter, my family has grown to 10 members. As a Church, you celebrated with me in the good seasons, and in the hard seasons you carried me. You loved me, prayed for me, and supported me when I needed it most.

Thank you for the privilege of serving alongside you as a Cell Group Leader, Sunday School Suprintendent, Co - Chairperson of the Couples' Fellowship, Treasurer, Secretary and Chairperson of the Women's Department, Mufulira District Coordinator of the PAOG Women's Ministry and Member of the Trans Africa Christian University Council. Those years taught me so much about Jesus, about service, and about the community.

I will miss our Cell Meetings, Ladies' Meetings, Bible Studies, Prayer Meetings, and our Sunday Worship Services. I will miss your voices, your hugs and the way we did life together.

Thank you for the valuable gifts that you gave me which I shall live to treasure. I feel loved and appreciated. My prayer is that God continues to bless you more my Eastlea Family, raise more labourers, and use this Church to reach many more people.
Please keep me in prayer as I start life in a new place. And know that you will be in my prayers too.

May the Lord bless you and keep you till we meet again here on earth or home above.
Stay blessed always.

Sunday Service Recap 🙏✨

Theme: Unexpected Levels
Main Scripture: Genesis 41:1–12, 37–44

Today’s message was a powerful reminder that God often uses challenges to prepare us for greater things. Every season of waiting, every setback, and every trial is increasing our capacity for the unexpected levels He has planned for us.

We were reminded:
• Don’t be afraid of challenges—they are part of God’s preparation.
• The God we carry is able to preserve us wherever we go.
• When God places a purpose in your heart, He is faithful to bring it to completion.
• Be quick to hear and obey the voice of the Lord.
• Pray for spiritual eyes that can recognize God’s hand at work, even when you can’t see the full picture.
• Even when nothing seems to be changing, keep trusting God and don’t lose heart. His timing is always perfect.

Like Joseph, your season of preparation can become the doorway to your promotion. What seems ordinary today may be the very path God is using to take you to unexpected levels.

“Don’t quit in the process—God is preparing you for a level you never imagined.” 🙌
