APOSTOLIC CHURCH IN ZAMBIA (ACZ)
SERMON SUMMARY
Date: Sunday, 16 August 2026
Preacher: Bishop E. Chokwe
Theme: BE FILLED
Main Text: Exodus 34:9β10
Introduction
To be filled means to be completely full. As believers, God desires us to be filled with His presence, His Spirit, His joy, and His righteousness. A life that is filled with the Holy Spirit leaves no room for the enemy to take control. Therefore, Christians must continually seek to be filled by God every day.
Key Scriptures
- Exodus 34:9β10
- Galatians 5:16β22
- Matthew 5:6
- Ephesians 5:18
- Luke 11:21β26
- Romans 1:29β30
Key Points
1. Be Filled with the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 5:18 instructs believers to be filled with the Spirit. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live a victorious Christian life and helps us overcome the desires of the flesh.
2. Guard Against Spiritual Emptiness
An empty life becomes vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy. Jesus taught in Luke 11:21β26 that when a person is emptied but not filled with God's presence, greater dangers can follow. We must fill our lives with God continually.
3. Walk in the Spirit
Galatians 5:16β22 teaches that those who walk in the Spirit produce the fruit of the Spirit. Being filled with the Spirit enables us to display love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
4. Hunger for Righteousness
Matthew 5:6 declares that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled. A strong desire for God attracts His presence and blessing into our lives.
5. Be Filled with the Joy of God
The joy of the Lord strengthens believers and helps them remain steadfast through challenges. God's joy fills the heart with peace and confidence.
