MONZE DIOCESE SYNOD COMMITTEE REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO SYNODALITY
Monze Diocese Synod Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the synodal Church process, with emphasis on unity, participation, and shared responsibility among the faithful.
This came to light during a meeting held on 24th May 2026 at St. Kizito Pastoral Centre in Monze, which brought together clergy, religious sisters, and Synod Contact Team members drawn from various parishes across Monze Diocese.
The meeting was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Cletus C. Mwiila and attracted representatives from Holy Trinity Cathedral, Sacred Heart Parish, Holy Cross Parish in Maamba, Our Lady of the Way Parish in Manungu, Christ The King Parish in Pemba, and Chivuna Parish, among others.
In his presentation, Fr. Mwiila said synodality is a continuous journey in the life of the Church and not a one-off event.
Fr Mwiila explained that it calls for communion, participation, and mission, where every member of the Church is actively involved in its life and processes.
He further said the synodal process must be rooted in hope, love, and humility, stressing that the Church belongs to God and not to individuals or groups.
The Committe emphasized the role of radio, social media, and other platforms in promoting evangelization, peacebuilding, and development across communities.
The session further called on Church leaders to strengthen leadership through listening and accompaniment, rather than administration alone, in order to enhance pastoral care.
