SUNDAY SERVICE; 03.05.26
PREACHER: Elder Mrs Silumesii
THEME: Everybody Needs A Nathan

KEY TEXT: 2nd Samuel 12:1-13

God often uses people to bless us, help us grow, guide and shape our character. Example: Goliath, Samuel and Saul all helped shape David's character and growth.
However, when David sinned, God sent Nathan to rebuke and correct him.
Nathan's are people who:
1. Pull you to the side and tell you when you are wrong and bring you back to the right path
2. They are brutally honest
3. They are a mirror to reflect on ourselves and repent
4. Are used by God to help us grow
5. They are mature and use wisdom to rebuke us

Note That;
6. Nathan was not stranger; there was a relationship and trust worthiness
7. He did not publicize David's sins, instead, he covered and helped David transform
8. Nathan was mature and wise; he used proverbs to rebuke David. He said it in such a way that conviction started from inside of David instead of burying him deeper into the grounds of shame.
9. He offered comfort from God when he spoke of hope (2nd Samuel 12:14)

Sin always has consequences.
Do not take advantage of God's grace.
Be receptive to Nathan's rebuke and do not be quick to deny. Instead, be like David. He did not deny but confessed his sins and God forgave him but there was still loss of his child as a consequence of his sin
