⨠WORRY MAKES THINGS WORSE āØ
Donāt worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and donāt forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience Godās peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 TLB).
Donāt you just like the fact that as a Christian, youāre not supposed to worry over anything? It takes the stress out of life. Worrying only makes things worse. Recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:27 (TPT); He asked, āSo, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?ā Refuse to worry about your rent. Refuse to worry about your health. Refuse to worry about anything!
Some people believe until theyāre worried and flustered, God wonāt do anything about their situation. What they donāt know is that worry actually short-circuits the power of God in oneās life. If worrying had any positive effects, God would have said, āBe worried; in fact, be very worried.ā But He never said that. Rather, He said, āā¦forsake your worries! Why would you say, ā...what will we wear?ā For that is what the unbelievers chase after. Doesnāt your heavenly Father already know the things your bodies require?ā (Matthew 6:31-32 TPT).
Worry is a ā...fiery dart of the wickedā (Ephesians 6:16); so, when it attacks you, repel it. Use the Word against it. Every day, be resolute that youāre going to practise Godās Word. His Word says, āDonāt fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of Godās wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. Itās wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the centre of your lifeā (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG). Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
I repel worry with Godās Word. Iām anxious for nothing, but in everything, I make my requests known to God, and the peace of God that passes all understanding garrisons my heart and mind. All things are working together for my good; I can never be disadvantaged. Blessed be God!
