THREE TRUTHS WE CANNOT ESCAPE
1. The people you love will not always be here.
Parents, spouses, siblings, family and close friends are precious gifts from God. Love them, appreciate them, forgive quickly, and make time for them. One day, death will separate us, and there will be nothing we can do to bring that moment back.
“For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” — James 4:14
2. Every birthday brings us closer to eternity.
We celebrate getting older, but every passing year is also a reminder that our time on earth is getting shorter. The question is not simply, “How long will I live?” but, “Am I ready for eternity?”
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12
3. Money can buy many things, but it cannot buy another day of life.
Many sacrifice their health, family, relationships, and even their walk with God in pursuit of wealth. Yet there may come a day when all the money we accumulated cannot restore what has been lost.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” — Mark 8:36
THE GREATEST TRUTH:
Life is temporary. Eternity is certain. Therefore, love your family while you have them. Use your time wisely. Take care of what God has entrusted to you. And above everything else, make sure you are ready to meet God.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” — Hebrews 9:27
Don't become so busy making a living that you forget to prepare for eternity.
