CONGRATULATIONS Rev Fr Kabungo for being Appointed Episcopal Vicar for the Religious.
Archdiocese of Lusaka Announces New Appointments and Changes
Archbishop of Lusaka, Most Rev. Dr. Alick Banda has made several new appointments and pastoral changes, effective immediately.
- Br. Charles Basigye of the Focolare Movement has been appointed Director of Resource Mobilisation.
- Fr. Matthews Mumba, OFM Conv., takes over as Director of Social Programmes, succeeding Fr. Evaristo Kabungo, who has been appointed Episcopal Vicar for the Religious, a role previously held by Fr. Timothy Lubunda.
- Fr. Collins Likumbi, Parish Priest of St. Maurice, has been appointed Education Secretary, replacing Fr. Paul Bwalya, who moves to the newly established Parish, Holy Trinity, in Feira, Luangwa.
- Fr. John Bwalya has been appointed as Parish Priest of St. Joseph Mukasa Parish, Makeni Bonaventure.
- Fr. Joseph Nkhoma, formerly Assistant Cathedral Administrator, has been appointed Parish Priest of St. Leo the Great in Lusaka West. He is succeeded at the Cathedral by newly ordained Fr. Samuel Sakala.
- Fr. Saviour Mutinta, previously Assistant Priest at Holy Spirit - Katondwe, moves to St. Stephen Parish, Situmbeko, in the same capacity.
- Fr. Emmanuel Mumba who was assistant priest at St. Joseph- Kanyama has swapped with Fr. Rodgers Matanda of St. Paul’s Chongwe in the same capacity.
Newly ordained priests have received the following appointments as Assistant Priests:
- Fr. Evaristo Chanda – St. Maurice Parish
- Fr. Peter Moyo – St. Francis Xavier Parish, Kalingalinga
- Fr. Webby Mwamba – Holy Spirit Parish, Katondwe
Transitional deacons have been assigned as follows:
- Dc. Steven Mutale Mwaba – Holy Trinity Parish, Feira, Luangwa
- Dc. Joseph Mwachunga – remains at St. Mary’s Assumption Parish, Chilanga
Seminarians on pastoral attachment have received the following assignments:
- Kelvin Soko – Christ the King Parish, Mumbwa
- Bernard Chomba – Holy Spirit Parish, Katondwe
- Justin Landirani Phiri – Adrian Mung’andu International Boys’ College, Njolwe
The Archdiocese extends its gratitude to all outgoing office bearers and wishes the newly appointed clergy and seminarians God’s blessings in their new ministries.
