THE MIRROR OF SELF-EXAMINATION.
BIBLE VERSE
2 Corinthians 13: 5
"Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves." (KJV)
Imagine a driver who never checks his gauges or a doctor who never looks at a patient’s charts. They would be driving blind or treating a disease they haven't diagnosed. We often spend a lot of time "examining" the faults of others—judging their walk, their choices, and their motives—while completely ignoring our own. The Bible calls us to a regular "self-audit." Maturity is the courage to sit before the Lord and ask, "Where am I drifting? Where have I let pride creep in? Am I truly living what I say I believe?" It is much easier to be a critic of the church than a student of your own heart. Real growth happens when you stop comparing yourself to others and start measuring yourself against the Word.
My fellow believers in Christ Jesus, your own heart is the only one you are truly responsible for; do not be distracted by the "speck" in someone else’s eye while ignoring the "beam" in your own. Spiritual maturity is found in the believer who is quick to repent and slow to judge. Strengthening your walk involves a daily "check-up" in the presence of the Holy Spirit, refusing to live in denial about your own weaknesses. As you prove your own self, you will find a new level of humility and a deeper connection to grace. Let the Lord be the judge of your heart. Yield your "defensiveness" to His refining fire today.
PRAYER:
Almighty God, we ask that You would search us and know our hearts today. Forgive us for being quick to judge others while ignoring our own faults. Reveal any area where we are not walking in faith and lead us in the way everlasting. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
GOOD MORNING
