*Zambia at 60 and as a Christian Heritage*

Dear beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,

On this joyous occasion of Zambia's 60th independence anniversary, we gather to reflect on God's faithfulness and blessings upon our nation.

Six decades ago, our forefathers courageously fought for freedom, and today we rejoice in the fruits of their labor. As Christians, we recognize that true freedom comes from Christ alone (Galatians 5:1), and we thank God for the religious liberty we enjoy.

As we celebrate this milestone, let us:

1. Praise God for His sovereignty over Zambia.
2. Honor our national heroes and heroines.
3. Pray for continued peace, unity, and prosperity.
4. Commit to being salt and light in our communities (Matthew 5:13-16).

May God bless Zambia and guide us toward a brighter future.

God of Zambia, we continue seeking your name

Luke 18:1 (KJV) "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint."

Prayer is essential for a nation, as it brings people together and fosters a sense of unity and purpose. When we pray for our nation, we're not just asking for divine intervention; we're also acknowledging our dependence on a higher power and seeking guidance for our leaders.

Why Prayer Matters for a Nation?

- Unity and Cooperation: Prayer helps bridge gaps between individuals and groups, promoting a sense of national unity and cooperation.
- Guidance for Leaders: By praying for our leaders, we're asking for wisdom and discernment to guide their decisions, ensuring the well-being of the nation.
- Protection and Prosperity: Prayer can bring protection and prosperity to a nation, as it invites divine blessing and favor.
- Revival and Renewal: Prayer can spark revival and renewal, transforming hearts and minds, and leading to positive change.

How to Pray for Your Nation:

- Pray for Unity: Ask for unity among citizens, leaders, and communities.

ZAMBIA NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST: UNITING THE NATION THROUGH PRAYER

October 8, 2024

The Zambia National Prayer Breakfast (ZNPB) is set to take place on October 10, 2024, at the Parliament grounds in Lusaka. This year's event marks the third edition of this inspiring gathering, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to promote unity, prayer, and action under the theme "Celebrating Our Christian Heritage and Fellowship."

A Historic Gathering
The guest of honor will be the President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. Hakainde Hichilema, with the Speaker Nellie Mutti as hostess and the Chief Justice Mumba Malila among others expected to attend. This event presents a unique opportunity for the three arms of government to come together in prayer.

Inspiration from the American National Prayer Breakfast
The ZNPB was inspired by the Kenyan National Prayer Breakfast, which in turn was inspired by the American National Prayer Breakfast that has been held annually since 1953. The American event has hosted influential figures like U.S. presidents, including President Joe Biden, former presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama, senators, and international leaders, facilitating dialogue, forging partnerships, and inspiring community service initiatives. Malawi had it's first national prayer breakfast last month while Zimbabwe, Bostwana, Namibia, South Africa and others are to follow suit.

Objectives of the ZNPB
- Foster National Unity and Cohesion: Bring together leaders from various sectors to promote unity and cooperation
- Promote Spiritual Growth and Moral Values: Encourage spiritual reflection and moral values among leaders
- Encourage Leaders to Prioritize Prayer and Reflection: Inspire leaders to seek guidance through prayer and reflection

Upcoming Event Details
The October 10 event will gather approximately 500 invitees, including politicians from all parties, representatives from NGOs, businesses, and churches, and youth leaders. Dr. Lutangu Lubasi heads the ZNPB, supported by committees focused on mobilization, finance and fundraising, marketing and media, protocol and security, and logistics.

As Zambia prepares for this significant gathering, the ZNPB organizers and participants look forward to a transformative experience that will inspire positive change and foster a sense of national unity. The organization's tagline, "God, Unite, Prayer, Action," embodies its mission.

Welcome to the Zambia National Prayer Breakfast page! 🙏🌍

We are excited to announce that The Zambia National Prayer Breakfast will take place on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, from 07:00 to 11:00 hrs.

This gathering is even more significant as our nation turns 60. We look forward to coming together in unity, reflecting, and seeking God's guidance and blessings for our nation.

Our theme for this year is “Celebrating our Christian Heritage and Fellowship” as we lift our voices in prayer and thanksgiving, trusting in God’s promises for our beautiful country.

We look forward to joining hands as one nation, inspired by God’s Word, to pray for Zambia’s future!
