ZINGO DECLARATION: A SHARED SACRED WORLDVIEW FOR A SHARED SACRED FLOURISHING 🌍🙏🏽

The Zambia Interfaith Networking Group (ZINGO) Secretariat fully supports the vision being promoted by the African Council for Religious Leaders , Religions for Peace (ACRL): “A Shared Sacred Worldview for a Shared Sacred Flourishing.”

At the heart of this declaration is the belief that life is a sacred trust, originating from God, bearing divine dignity, and sustained by His spirit. This sacredness compels us to protect life, uphold justice, and serve humanity in love.

Across our diverse faiths, this conviction is clear:

Bahá’í Faith: “The soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem.”

Christianity: “The LORD God… breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” (Genesis 2:7)

Hinduism: “The eternal soul is a fragment of My own Self.” (Bhagavad Gita 15:7)

Islam: “We have indeed created man in the best of molds.” (Qur’an 95:4)

In light of this shared truth, we commit ourselves to:

✅ Protect Life – Oppose violence, exploitation, and neglect, while promoting life-affirming policies.

✅ Promote Justice and Peace – Advocate for fairness, equality, and reconciliation.

✅ Serve the Vulnerable – Mobilize resources to support the poor, marginalized, and voiceless.

✅ Foster Human Flourishing – Build inclusive and cooperative communities that value diversity.

We call upon government institutions, community leaders, and all people of goodwill to join us in honoring the sacredness of life and advancing a shared flourishing for all.

💬 “ZINGO is contributing to national development in a sacred manner.” , Mr. Sivers Hamukoma, Executive Director (ZINGO)

ZINGO IN ACTION: FAITH LEADERS AT THE HEART OF EPIDEMIC RESPONSE 🙏🏽🤝🏽

ZINGO continued to champion holistic ministry in advancing the health and wellbeing of our communities.

From 11–15 August 2025, the Ministry of Health and the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) hosted a 5-day training for Lusaka Province Health Promoters at Mulungushi Conference Centre, Lusaka.

Representing ZINGO, Rev. Charles Ngoma of the Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) delivered an insightful presentation on “The Role of Faith Leaders in Fighting Epidemics in the Province and the Nation at Large.”

The Ministry of Health acknowledged and deeply appreciated the indispensable role of faith leaders in safeguarding public health, and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen partnerships going forward.

💬 “The Ministry of Health could not work alone without faith leaders, who are the gatekeepers of every society in Zambia today.”

ZINGO was proud to stand alongside government, civil society, and communities to ensure that health promotion and epidemic response reached every corner of our nation.

Together, we were stronger. Together, we saved lives. 🌍💚

🎶 FROM LUSAKA TO JOHANNESBURG — ONE ANTHEM, ONE FAMILY! 🇿🇲🤝🇿🇦

On the final day of the FLEAT Zambia III workshop, something magical and hilarious happened...

The facilitators from South Africa surprised the room with a rendition of Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika—and before we knew it, Zambian participants had joined in FULL VOICE, hands on chest, laughter in the air! 😂🎤

We may have come from two countries, but in that moment—there were no borders.
Just faith.
Just song.
Just love.
Just Africa. 🌍❤️

We didn’t need passports. Just a good sense of humour and some off-key singing!

One participant whispered, “Ba FLEAT, this is now ZAMAFRICA!” 😄
Another added, “Where two or more faiths are gathered, even national anthems unite!”

🔥 That’s the power of interfaith climate action — it doesn’t just cross denominations, it crosses continents.

🌱 SEEDS OF CHANGE! 🌍

We closed the FLEAT Zambia III workshop with purpose, colour, and heritage!

On the last day, the room was full of life, laughter and indigenous seeds! From amasaka (sorghum) to pumpkin, ilanda, groundnuts, black locus, mabuyu tree seeds, papaya, lemon, and more… 🫘🌾

Each participant brought seeds from their communities, symbolizing resilience, food sovereignty, climate justice, and knowledge sharing.

We didn’t just talk about agroecology.
We felt it.
We held it.
We exchanged it.
We planted it in each other’s hearts.

📦 Everyone left with seeds, not just to plant in soil, but to plant in minds, communities, and faith spaces.
This wasn’t just an agricultural activity, it was spiritual, cultural, and revolutionary.

Let’s keep the momentum growing… because “he who controls the seeds, controls the future!”
