TOPIC: MIGHTY GOD, GIVE ZAMBIA A PEACEFUL AND GOD-GUIDED ELECTION

MAIN SCRIPTURE:

1 Timothy 2:1–2 (KJV)
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."

As Zambia approaches the 13th August 2026 election, we commit our nation into the hands of the Almighty God. God is the Lord of nations, and He is able to guide our leaders, protect our citizens, and establish peace throughout the land.

As a Church we can not respond to national uncertainty with fear, hatred, or division, but with prayer, faith, wisdom, and love. We are called to pray for those in authority so that we may live peaceful and godly lives.

Proverbs 21:1 reminds us that the heart of a king is in the hand of the Lord. Therefore, we trust God to guide the electoral process, give wisdom to voters and candidates, and cause justice, truth, and righteousness to prevail.

Throughout Scripture, God's people experienced His intervention in times of national crisis. Jehoshaphat faced a powerful enemy, but he called Judah to seek the Lord through prayer and fasting. God responded by giving them victory without depending on their own strength (2 Chronicles 20:1–22).

The same God is able to preserve Zambia. He can silence violence, prevent bloodshed, remove confusion, protect polling stations and citizens, and give the nation leaders who will serve with wisdom, humility, justice, and integrity.

Beloved, let us pray for Zambia with faith. Let us refuse every spirit of tribalism, hatred, intimidation, violence, and division. May the peace of God prevail before, during, and after the election. May Zambia remain united and continue to fulfil its God-given purpose.

KEY LESSON FOR THE DAY

Prayer is our responsibility in times of national uncertainty. When God's people seek Him, He is able to preserve the nation, establish peace, guide leaders, and cause His righteous purpose to prevail.

PERSONAL PRAYER POINT

Mighty God, preserve Zambia and give our nation a peaceful and God-guided election. Protect every citizen, give wisdom to our leaders and voters, and let Your will, peace, justice, and righteousness prevail, in Jesus' name. Amen.

TODAY'S ASSIGNMENT

1. THANKSGIVING FOR ZAMBIA
Mighty God, we thank You for Zambia and for preserving our nation until this election season. Let Your mercy continue to speak over Zambia, in Jesus' name.

2. PRAYER FOR A PEACEFUL ELECTION
Mighty God, let the 13th August election be peaceful, orderly, transparent, and free from violence, intimidation, bloodshed, and confusion, in Jesus' name.
Scripture: Psalm 122:6 — “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”

3. PRAYER FOR THE ELECTORAL PROCESS
Mighty God, let every stage of the electoral process be guided by truth, integrity, justice, wisdom, and fairness. Let everything be done properly and peacefully, in Jesus' name.

Mighty God, give all candidates humility, self-control, wisdom, and respect for one another. Let every political leader put the interests of Zambia above personal ambition, in Jesus' name.

6. PRAYER FOR SECURITY AND PEACE
Mighty God, protect every polling station, voter, electoral officer, observer, police officer, candidate, campaign worker, and member of the public. Let there be no loss of life or destruction of property, in Jesus' name.

7. PRAYER AGAINST VIOLENCE AND DIVISION
Mighty God, silence every spirit of tribalism, hatred, provocation, retaliation, violence, and political division. Let love, tolerance, dialogue, and unity prevail throughout Zambia, in Jesus' name.

8. PRAYER FOR GOD'S WILL TO PREVAIL
Mighty God, let Your will and purpose prevail over Zambia. Guide the outcome of the election according to Your sovereign purpose and give the nation leaders who will serve with wisdom and righteousness, in Jesus' name.

9. PRAYER FOR ACCEPTANCE OF THE RESULT
Mighty God, give all political parties and candidates grace to accept lawful and properly established results peacefully. Where disagreements arise, let them be handled through lawful and peaceful processes, in Jesus' name.

“And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.”

Wisdom and understanding are essential for successful Christian living and effective Kingdom service. Knowledge tells us what to do, but wisdom teaches us how, when, and where to do it.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. He opens our spiritual eyes, helps us to understand God's Word, guides our decisions, and gives us the ability to handle life's challenges according to God's will.

Many people have knowledge but lack wisdom. Others have opportunities but lack understanding to use them correctly.
