DEVOTION
When we feel discouraged, God is always ready to help us keep going. Remember Job's words: "Hope springs eternal". With God's grace, we can keep trying and trust He will see us through.

PRAYER
O God of hope, we humbly ask for Your assistance in our times of difficulty. When we feel like giving up, please give us the strength to keep going. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

(MEDITATION)
AS CHRISTIANS, WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER. WE CAN'T GO THROUGH LIFE ALONE; IT'S TOO COMPLICATED. WHEN WE JOIN TOGETHER, WE CAN STAND FIRM AGAINST THE WINDS OF LIFE. WE CAN OFFER EACH OTHER ENCOURAGEMENT, ADVICE, AND HELP WHEN NEEDED. WE CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE FELLOWSHIP IN WHATEVER WAY WE CAN. LET'S COME TOGETHER AND BUILD EACH OTHER UP, JUST AS GOD HAS COMMANDED US.

INSPIRATION
There are many shepherds, but not all of them are "good." Many flee when they see the wolf coming and care not for the sheep. But Jesus laid down his life for his sheep. Not all men are his sheep, but those who will believe in him; and not one of his sheep shall perish.

PRAYER
You are my Shepherd, O Lord. You laid down your life for me, and you provide all things that I need from day to day and forever. Your goodness is unmatched by the hireling shepherds of this world. Your goodness and love surpass all that of man to an infinite degree and leave us in wonder and awe. Amen

INSPIRATION
The word of God is what guides our lives and keeps us from the darkness. We hear God’s word through His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, in times of prayer; and we also hear His word through the Scriptures we read. Keep your mind fixed on the word of God, it will continually keep you safe, keep you encouraged, and keep you wise so that you will always be wary of the ways of the enemy.

PRAYER
Dear God, I am grateful for Your word in my life. Father, thank you for all the guidance that You have provided me. For all the times, You kept me out of darkness and showed me the light, Lord, I am truly grateful. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

John 8:31-32 (KJV) Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

INSPIRATION
Clear evidence of our discipleship in Christ is seen in sticking to His word, following His instructions and delighting in His truth. The world will always try to make you feel like it is “uncool” or “prudish” to follow Christ. Those are simply lies of the devil. Choose to pursue Christ in all you do; it will benefit you for an eternity.

PRAYER
Dear God, I desire to pursue You and the things of You and Your Kingdom. Even if the world will make me seem like a fool, I don’t care. I know that this world does not have anything for me. I find all I need in You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

INSPIRATION
Paul sent one of his men to the church of Ephesus so that the church would be aware of Paul’s plans and activities, and so that the church could be encouraged. We should follow Paul’s example of transparency, never being afraid to let people know of our actions, our intent, and our plans. Wherever we go, we should also seek to encourage those we come into contact with.

PRAYER
Dear God, I pray that I may be able to be as transparent as Your servant, Paul. I desire to be open with everyone I come across, Lord may You help me to do so. I also pray that everywhere I go, I will be able to encourage and strengthen anyone I encounter. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

INSPIRATION
There is an ancient Latin expression first recorded by Pliny the Elder, where a famous painter asked a local shoemaker to give instructions on a new painting, specifically in the artists’ rendering of a sandal. Duly, the shoemaker made his critique, and the mistake was rectified. Encouraged by his new found power, the shoemaker started critiquing other things in the painting, offering his opinions blindly. Seeking an end to this, in divulging his thoughts on things he was perhaps ignorant of, the painter replied: "Shoe maker, do not look beyond the foot [Sutor, ne ultra crepidam]". This anecdote may illustrate the point that no matter how powerful, successful or rich, no matter how confident we may feel in ourselves and our own abilities, we are but lowly children still in comparison to our Lord Almighty, whose power we only understand a fraction of. We are not the ultimate masters of our destiny, rather it is God who decides, who determines our fates, sometimes above our own understanding.

PRAYER
Lord God, the most almighty! Above our power and into the enteral paradise, You see all we do and are capable of. I thank you for all You have given me O Lord, and pray that even with these abundant gifts I may stay humble within Your presence. For above us, is Your divine plan, and wrong are we to try and deny its unfolding, erred are we to try and deny Your higher power that works within us. Praise be Your name, Amen.

INSPIRATION

Stand up for the oppressed, this is the message of this passage. Defend those who are oppressed, downtrodden, even if they are without our Heavenly Father. Think back to many historical events, from the slaves of Egypt becoming the chosen people, to the abolition of slavery, or the horrors committed in world wars or in the name of Empires. Our world is weighed down by immeasurable suffering. Be not on the wrong side of history, be not on the side of the oppressor, but seek to help those of God’s children who have no or little voice, little or no hope.

PRAYER

God place me on the right side, the side of mercy and love for the voiceless, the injured, the poor. Instill within each and every one of Your followers the knowledge that within them rests an obligation and responsibility, to help give the voiceless a voice, to alleviate the suffering of mankind wherever they may be. I ask for Your continued mercy, Amen.

INSPIRATION

Just because we have been justified beyond our works, it does not mean that we have a right to live our lives carelessly. No. In this verse, we are urged to live our lives in a manner that is worth of the gospel of Christ. Our actions should be in response to the righteous nature we have adopted, as children of God. We need to make sure the things we do and the words we speak are a correct representation of who God is.

PRAYER

Dear God, I pray that in everything I do, may my life be lived in a way that is pleasing before your eyes. May I stay away from all activities that do not glorify your name, Lord. I pray that I follow your guidance and apply your wisdom, so that the righteousness that is within me, will shine through. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
