Theme : Christ the potential seeker
Scripture: Luke 5:8--11
Reading
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
Luke 5:8-11 NIV.
Devotion
This portion of Scripture talks about an amazing moment that happened in the twinkling of an eye. This was a time when the fisherman Simon and his crew caught nothing the whole night, and meeting jesus, he told them to go the deep for a catch. As they obeyed they caught massive to the extent of their net breaking and their boat sinking.
After that, Peter realised that the man who was in the boat with him was not any ordinary man but rather a child of God and then he realised his sin and told jesus to go away. But instead of jesus Christ going away, he says to Simon and others that they will become fishers of men glory to God🙌🙌🙌.
Christ does not see the sin before you but rather sees the potential in you. This potential is a treasure that is in the inside of you, it is a tool that christ wants you to use in order to bring glory to the father, Peter saw himself as a sinner but christ saw a fisher of men in the inside of him when he allowed himself to be used by God under the mentorship of christ.... You see, the way christ sees you differs from the way the world sees you, including yourself, sometimes you see yourself to be a good for nothing individual who amount to nothing but that's not the perception of christ for you he sees great potential in you that is why he is the potential seeker..it now explains why he would eat with sinners because he knew that they could be great men of righteousness. Yes including you, you can become the man/woman that God wants you to be if only you can Surrender yourself and be born again then shall your potential manifest glory hallelujah 🙌🙌🎉🎉
