I was a staunch Catholic, but I left immediately I saw the light because the Catholic Church doesn’t speak in tongues, there is no prophecy, they don’t shout enough, they don’t evangelize, they don’t ‘preach properly,’ and they supposedly worship Mary.”

And now that you have left, you believe you have finally “seen the light” and escaped “darkness?”

But I have a few questions:

1. When did speaking in tongues become the certificate for being a true Christian?

2. When did shouting during prayer become proof that the Holy Spirit is present?

3. When did prophecy become the standard for measuring a true preacher?

4. And when did praying the Rosary become worshipping Mary?

Catholic worship may be quiet, but quiet does not mean powerless. Reverence does not mean the absence of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is not measured by volume, noise, or how dramatic our prayers look. Catholics are called to evangelize. Yes, we must preach Christ and live our faith. But Christianity is not a shouting competition.

We pray the Rosary, but we worship God alone. We honour Mary because Scripture calls her blessed; we do not replace Christ with her.

If you believe God called you out of the Catholic Church, I respect your decision. But please, you can tell people where you are going without insulting where you came from.

You don’t have to call your past “darkness” simply because your present looks different. Different expression does not mean a different Christ.

At the end of the day, the question is not, “Who shouts the loudest?”
The question is: Are we truly following Christ?

Because Christianity is not a performance. It is a life of faith, obedience, love, and truth.

We worship God alone. We follow Christ. And we don’t need to put down another Christian to prove that we have found the light.

The Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) in their pastoral letter called on Government, the Electoral Commission of Zambia, candidates, political parties, security agencies, the media and citizens to play their part in ensuring a free, fair, transparent and credible election. They further called on all to respect the will of the Zambian people freely expressed at the ballot box.
