‭Matthew 6:31-33
[31] Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’ [32] For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. [33] But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.

WHY DID GOD CREATE LUCIFER IF HE KNEW HE WOULD BECOME SATAN?

THIS QUESTION HAS SHAKEN MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD.

Many people are asking,

“If God knows everything, why did He create the devil?”

“If God already knew Lucifer would rebel, destroy lives, spread evil, tempt humanity, and become Satan, then why create him at all?”

“Wouldn’t a loving and all-knowing God have stopped evil before it even began?”

Some people have become confused because of this question.
Some have become angry at God.
Some have even started doubting the existence of God entirely.

But here is the truth most people have never been taught.

The existence of Satan is not proof that God failed.
It is proof that free will is real.

And until you understand free will, love, holiness, obedience, and justice, this question will never fully make sense.

Now let us go deep.

LUCIFER WAS NOT CREATED AS THE DEVIL

This is the first truth many people miss.

God did not create Satan evil.

Lucifer was created holy, beautiful, wise, powerful, and glorious.

Ezekiel 28:12 to 15 describes him as full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. He was an anointed cherub that covered the throne area. Verse 15 says clearly,

“You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.”

Notice that carefully.

Iniquity was not created inside Lucifer by God.
It was found in him through pride and rebellion.

Isaiah 14:12 to 14 reveals what happened. Lucifer became lifted up because of his beauty, position, and glory. He desired to exalt himself above God.

This means evil was not something God manufactured.
Evil was the corruption of something that was originally good.

Just like darkness is the absence of light, evil is the corruption or rejection of God’s goodness.

GOD CREATED BEINGS WITH FREE WILL

This is where the hidden truth begins to unfold.

God did not want robots.

He wanted beings capable of genuine love, worship, obedience, and relationship.

Real love cannot exist without choice.

Think about that deeply.

If a person is forced to love you, that is not love.
If a person has no ability to reject you, their acceptance of you has no meaning.

Love only becomes real when rejection is possible.

That is why angels had choice.
That is why humanity has choice.

Deuteronomy 30:19 says,

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life.”

Joshua 24:15 says,

“Choose this day whom you will serve.”

God created beings with the ability to choose Him freely.

Lucifer abused that freedom.

Adam and Eve also abused that freedom.

And many humans still abuse that freedom today.

But the existence of choice is not proof that God is evil.
It is proof that love is genuine.

IF GOD KNEW LUCIFER WOULD FALL, WHY CREATE HIM ANYWAY?

Now we enter the deeper mystery.

Yes, God knew.

Isaiah 46:10 says God declares the end from the beginning.

Nothing surprises Him.

But foreknowledge is not the same as causation.

Knowing something will happen does not mean you caused it to happen.

For example, a parent may know their child is stubborn and may eventually make terrible choices. Yet the parent still gives birth to the child because the possibility of love, growth, redemption, and relationship is still worth it.

God knew rebellion would happen.
But He also knew redemption would happen.

He knew sin would enter the world.
But He also knew Jesus would come.

Revelation 13:8 speaks of Jesus as the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Before humanity even fell, God already prepared salvation.

That means the cross was not God’s emergency plan.
It was already part of His eternal wisdom.

THE EXISTENCE OF EVIL DOES NOT CANCEL THE EXISTENCE OF GOD

In fact, many times it points toward Him.

Think carefully.

If people say evil exists, they are already acknowledging that objective morality exists.

But if there is objective evil, then there must also be objective good.

And if objective good exists, then morality is not merely human opinion.
It points to a higher moral standard beyond humanity.

Without God, words like evil, justice, wickedness, and righteousness lose ultimate meaning because everything becomes relative.

The very outrage people feel against evil actually reveals that deep inside humanity there is an awareness that good and evil are real.

And that moral reality points toward a moral Lawgiver.

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW SATAN TO CONTINUE?

Another painful question people ask is this,

“If God is all-powerful, why not destroy Satan immediately?”

The answer is because God is not only powerful.
He is also just, patient, wise, and purposeful.

God is allowing history to unfold so that the full consequences of rebellion can be revealed before all creation forever.

Sin must fully expose itself.
Pride must reveal its destruction.
Rebellion must show its end result.

One day nobody in eternity will ever be able to say,
“If we rebel against God, maybe it will lead to something better.”

The history of sin has already proven otherwise.

Romans 8:28 says God works all things together for good for those who love Him.

Even what Satan meant for destruction, God can turn into testimony, growth, deliverance, and redemption.

Look at Joseph.
Look at Job.
Look at the cross itself.

Satan inspired betrayal and murder against Jesus.
Yet through that very cross came salvation for the world.

THE CROSS REVEALS THE DEEPEST SECRET OF ALL

Here is the hidden truth many people overlook.

God did not stay distant from human suffering.

He entered it Himself.

Jesus came into this broken world.
He was rejected.
He was betrayed.
He was beaten.
He was crucified.

The God people accuse of allowing suffering stepped into suffering Himself.

And through the resurrection, He defeated sin, death, and Satan permanently.

Colossians 2:15 says Jesus disarmed principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them.

Satan’s defeat is already guaranteed.
His final judgment is certain.

Revelation 20:10 reveals that one day the devil will be thrown into the lake of fire forever.

Evil has an expiration date.

THE REAL QUESTION IS NOT “WHY DID GOD CREATE LUCIFER?”

The deeper question is this,

Why does humanity continue rejecting God even after seeing the consequences of sin throughout history?

Every war.
Every hatred.
Every corruption.
Every act of wickedness.
Every oppression.

Humanity keeps proving what happens when creation tries to live independently from the Creator.

Yet even after all of this, God still offers mercy.

That is the shocking part.

He still forgives.
He still calls people back.
He still saves sinners.
He still transforms lives.

That is not weakness.
That is love beyond human understanding.

TEACHING SUMMARY

Lucifer was not created evil. He was created good but chose rebellion through pride.

God created angels and humans with free will because genuine love and obedience require choice.

God’s foreknowledge does not mean He caused evil. Knowing something will happen is different from forcing it to happen.

The existence of evil does not disprove God. It reveals the reality of free will, morality, justice, and humanity’s separation from God.

Jesus Christ entered human suffering, defeated Satan through the cross and resurrection, and will one day remove evil forever.

So the next time someone asks,
“If God knew Lucifer would rebel, why create him?”

Remember this.

The story of Scripture is not merely about the rise of evil.
It is about the triumph of redemption, the power of love, and the victory of God over darkness.

If this message helped you understand this difficult question more clearly, do not keep it to yourself.

John 14:16-17
Role of the Spirit
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
John 14:25-26
“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
John 15:26-27
“When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
John 16:5-15
The Holy Spirit Promised
“But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.

2 Timothy 2:22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
1 Chronicles 28:9
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

Hebrews 9:6-14
Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the outer tabernacle performing the divine worship, but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience, since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until a time of reformation. But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
1 John 1:5-7
God Is Light
This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
The Day of the Lord
Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

Revelation 19:6-10
Then I heard something like the voice of a great multitude and like the sound of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, saying,
“Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Marriage of the Lamb
Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he *said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “These are true words of God.” Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he *said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Galatians 2:20-21
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."
