*When* *your* *heart* is *overwhelmed*

1 Hear my cry, O God; Give heed to my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth, I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy. 4 Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah. 5 For You have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name. 6 You will prolong the king's life; His years will be as many generations. 7 He will abide before God forever; Appoint lovingkindness and truth that they may preserve him. 8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may pay my vows day by day. (Psalms 61, NASB)

David cried to God in his distress, pleading attention.

He stated that nothing would stop him from praying.

The end of the earth is a symbol of He'll.

He pledged to praybeven from the depths of He'll and when his heart was overwhelmed.

In the state of overwhelming stress, direct Your prayers to God.

An overwhelming heart is an overwhelming mind.

Caused by various stressers that overwhelm the mind like gross instability, scarcity or poverty, depression, relationships, stagnation, religious bondage, disppointment, debts, distress, discontent whichcraft captivity, tormenting spirits, public humiliation, sick and disease and many more.

*What* *are* *manifestations* *of the* *overwhelmed mind?*

1. Mental fainting
Mind stops functioning experience mind block.mental failure Scriptures don't come to mind.
You are unable to think clearly as a result. You have an overwhelming fear.

men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Luke 21:26, NASB)

2. Inability to come to a solution.
There is no resolution in your mind. You get overthinking, and the situation lingers your mind. Feeing if no escape from the problem.

3. Unrelenting torment
There is no escape from the tormenting element. There is no help, and you start losing hope.

Look to the right and see; For there is no one who regards me; There is no escape for me; No one cares for my soul. (Psalm 142:4, NASB)

4. You lose touch with reality.
You get to a place of hopelessness and allucination, feeling of madness. Demented and insane
Jeremiah 51:7, Zechariah 12:4

5. Deep discontent sets in . Joy disappears.
My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" (Psalm 42:3, NASB)

6. Suicidal thoughts

Death seems better than life. Elijah was suitable after Jezebels' threat.

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, "It is enough; now, O LORD, take my life, for I am not better than my fathers." (1 Kings 19:4, NASB)

Prayer:

From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. (Psalm 61:2, NASB)

O my God, my soul is in despair within me; Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. (Psalm 42:6, NASB)

But the LORD has been my stronghold, And my God the rock of my refuge. (Psalm 94:22, NASB)

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psalm 18:2, NASB)

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have hidden a trap for me. (Psalm 142:3, NASB)

29 Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? 30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, declares the LORD, who steal my words from one another. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets, declares the LORD, who use their tongues and declare, 'declares the LORD.' 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, declares the LORD, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them. So they do not profit this people at all, declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 23:29-32, ESV)

Sometimes forgiving requires focus and energy

‘‘I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.’’
Philippians 3:13 NLT
Forgiving someone who has hurt you deeply is one of the most difficult things you will ever be asked to do. You know you must forgive, for nursing a grudge is like nursing a baby; anything you feed and nurture will continue to grow. But that doesn’t make forgiving easy. Try to understand this: forgiveness is a decision, not an emotion. If you wait until you feel like forgiving, you risk remaining trapped in the torture of resentment. When Peter asked Jesus how often he should forgive someone who had offended him, Jesus replied, ‘Seventy times seven’ (Matthew 18:22 KJV). In other words, forgive, and keep on forgiving until you get beyond it. But note four things: 1) Forgiveness doesn’t mean you must resume a relationship with the offender, especially if they are unrepentant and refuse to change their behaviour. 2) It doesn’t mean condoning what they did or agreeing with them. 3) It doesn’t let them off the hook; it lets you off the hook and enables you to get on with your life. 4) It doesn’t mean you won’t be able to remember it, but that you will have the power to think about it differently; graciously rather than resentfully. And one more thought: don’t let Satan convince you that you haven’t forgiven just because you still remember. The ability to forgive is a learned behaviour. The more you practise it, the better you get at it. It happens when you look for ways to extend understanding to your offender and find something to be compassionate about.
