I am a wise man. I am not a nice man. If you want to hear nice things, please stop following me. Only follow me if you want to hear wise sayings. I have never pretended to be nice. And I must warn you, wise sayings are not always nice. In fact, quite the opposite. They are full of hot spice! There are 9 fruit of the Spirit. Niceness is not one of them. The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of wiseness not of niceness. The Holy Spirit kills. If you doubt it, ask Ananias and Sapphira. Scripture says “wisdom is profitable”-Ecclesiastes 10:10. It does not say ‘wisdom is nice’! I have never heard of where they said ‘truth is sweet’!

Revelation 5:4-5
New International Version
4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals

Hosea 11:10
After Jehovah they go -- as a lion He roareth, When He doth roar, then tremble do the sons from the west

Revelation 10:3
and he cried with a great voice, as a lion doth roar, and when he cried, speak out did the seven thunders their voices

Joel 3:16
The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel

When you wake prematurely at night and can’t go back to sleep, don't stress. God allowed you to wake up for a reason. There may be things coming in your future that need intervention. You are in a theta state. The environment is quiet. Don’t waste the opportunity. Pray! You did not just wake up. You woke up for a reason. Apple Inc can remotely wake your iPhone from California, no matter where you are on Earth. And God can remotely wake your spirit man from the Ancient Heavens no matter where you are in the Universe. Pray so you don’t fall prey!

A Life of Thanksgiving

How thankful are you when you talk to God? The world around us generally doesn’t encourage thankfulness. We’re taught to look after ourselves in order to get what we think we deserve. But we’re not generally taught to be thankful.

And yet—Christians ought to be the most thankful people on earth because we have been given everything by God. James 1:17 reminds us that every good gift comes from God. This implies that God is always acting in kindness toward us.

Not only has God given us life and breath, but He has also offered us the free gift of eternal life. God made a way for us to have a relationship with Him through the death and resurrection of Jesus. That alone is more than enough for us to live in gratitude toward God.

That is why our hearts should be in a constant state of thanksgiving.

And yet, we often find ourselves complaining because things don’t go the way we want. We grumble because we don’t have the things we think we deserve. And the more that we complain, the more our hearts grow critical and bitter.

Thankfully, Psalm 100 gives us the antidote for grumbling and complaining: thankfulness. Thanksgiving is a spiritual habit that we have to intentionally develop through continual practice. We can practice by taking time each day to talk with God and to thank Him for all He has done for us. We can also practice by telling others how grateful we are for them.

So the next time you find yourself complaining or grumbling, take a moment to think about the love and goodness of God in your life. Instead of complaining, express how thankful you are for who God is and what He has given you. Keep a list of things you’re grateful for and add to it throughout the week. Watch as your heart and mind begin to be transformed by the simple act of thanksgiving.

TODAY'S SUNDAY REFLECTION
Before time existed, there was no beginning. There was nothing except God. God was all. Then there was a beginning. There was creation. And it was “very good”. God desired at that moment an intimate relationship with man, the crown of his creation, and with all of creation. But instead man chose and continues to choose infidelity, chaos, violence, evil and hatred. And because of these, creation has become something less than God intended. At the end of time, everything will cease to be: nations, temples; but instead of returning to a dark void, those who are faithfully united to him. The signs we observe of human calamities bids us to testify to all that Jesus teaches us – there is more to life than we see. We must live faithfully now, so that, by our perseverance as faithful disciples of Jesus, we will secure everlasting life. Every day is an opportunity to live our discipleship fully and confidently .
