FUNDRAISING DINNER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ST. CLARE MONASTERY
On Friday, 26th June 2026, the Sisters of St. Clare of the Archdiocese of Ndola, based in Fisenge, Luanshya Deanery, held a fundraising dinner at the Grand Savoy Hotel in Ndola.
The dinner was organised to raise funds towards the ongoing construction of the St. Clare Monastery, which is currently at slab level. The event was spearheaded by the Resources Mobilisation Committee, with the Guest of Honour being His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri, JCD, Archbishop of Ndola, who was represented by the Pastoral Director, Rev. Fr. Thomas Chunika.
In his welcoming remarks, the Chairperson, Mr. Hubert Mutati, expressed gratitude to all guests and supporters who attended the event. He thanked everyone for their overwhelming response and encouraged continued support towards the monastery construction project,He was represented by Mr katepa.
Representing the Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Thomas Chunika thanked everyone who participated in the fundraising dinner and conveyed God’s blessings upon all the supporters. He emphasised the importance of the Church working together with the faithful and the wider community in supporting projects that benefit the Church and society.
Fr. Chunika highlighted that since the commencement of the construction project, many people have continued to support the initiative. He shared that the project requires approximately K12 million for completion and so far, about K3 million has been raised. He encouraged everyone to continue contributing towards the successful completion of the monastery.
The evening was also graced with entertainment from musician Vinchenzo M’bale, who delivered an outstanding performance for the guests.
During the event, pledges amounting to over K66,700 were made towards supporting the construction project.
