DIVINE PROVIDENCE AT THE ANGOCHE CRUSADE
By Pastor Ured Chinga | Angoche, Mozambique
One of the remarkable lessons from the evangelistic campaign in the seaport town of Angoche is that when the mission of soul winning is before us, the Lord often works beyond our expectations and even beyond our usual structures and protocols.
Upon arriving at my preaching site, we discovered that among the brethren there was no one available to translate my messages from English into Portuguese. Humanly speaking, this posed a serious challenge to the progress of the meetings. However, in Godβs providence, the local pastor engaged Brother Joseph, a Catholic gentleman, to assist with translation during the campaign.
Night after night, Brother Joseph faithfully stood beside me translating the messages of hope and salvation to the people. As the Word of God continued to go forth, the same man who had come to help as a translator was himself touched by the power of the gospel. By the grace of God, Brother Joseph is now among the precious souls baptized during this campaign. It is truly one of the rare and humbling experiences I have encountered in ministry.
In another touching development, a Catholic family in the community generously provided the PA system and garden chairs that supported our meetings throughout the campaign. Their kindness and willingness to help created an atmosphere in which many people were able to hear the gospel message comfortably and clearly. At the close of the meetings, we had the privilege of praying together with the family in gratitude to God for His leading.
Indeed, this campaign has reminded us that the Lord can use anyone, from any background, to advance His cause and draw souls unto Himself. The work of evangelism continues to teach us that Godβs grace reaches far beyond human boundaries.
