Good morning, brethren.

Today, we are pleased to feature Bro. Nicholas Simuyemba, a dedicated member of Kwacha East Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Bro. Simuyemba is a passionate and committed servant of God who has the Youth Ministries at heart. His dedication, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve the church and support young people continue to make a positive impact. His commitment to God's work does not go unnoticed, and his example inspires many within our congregation.

As a church family, we thank God for his faithful service and pray that the Lord will continue to bless, guide, and strengthen him in all that he does. May God grant him wisdom, good health, and success as he continues serving both the church and the community.

May God richly bless you, Bro. Simuyemba.

Morning Devotion: THE GRACE OF GOD

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Grace is God's love reaching us when we do not deserve it. It is not earned by our goodness, our works, or our efforts; it is a gift freely given through Jesus Christ. When we fall, grace lifts us. When we are weak, grace strengthens us. When we feel unworthy, grace reminds us that God's love is greater than our failures.
The greatest proof of grace is the cross. Christ took our place so that we could receive forgiveness, hope, and eternal life. God's grace does not only save us—it transforms us, teaching us to live each day closer to Him.
Today, do not focus on how strong you are; focus on how great God's grace is. The same grace that saved you is the same grace that will sustain you. Amen.

God did not call us to be copies of other Christians, He called us to be reflections of Christ. Men may inspire us, but only Jesus is our perfect pattern.

Morning Devotion: CALLED TO BE LIKE CHRIST

"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son." Romans 8:29

One of the greatest mistakes believers make is comparing themselves with other Christians. While faithful men and women of God can inspire us, they were never meant to be our ultimate standard. People can fail, change, or fall short, but Jesus Christ remains the perfect example for every believer.

God did not call us to imitate the lifestyle, popularity, or achievements of other Christians; He called us to reflect the character of Christ. The purpose of the Christian life is not merely to attend church, hold a position, or look religious—it is to become more like Jesus every day. His humility should shape our attitude, His love should guide our relationships, His compassion should move our hearts, and His obedience should define our walk with God.

In a world where many follow personalities, trends, and human opinions, true disciples fix their eyes on Christ. The closer we walk with Him, the more His character is seen in us. When people look at our lives, they should not simply see another Christian; they should see the influence of Jesus Christ shining through us.

Today, ask yourself: Am I trying to be like other Christians, or am I striving to be like Christ? The highest calling of every believer is not to resemble the crowd but to resemble the Savior. Amen.

SABBATH SCHOOL LESSON 11

MONDAY, JUNE 08

Be Made Well

Imagine the throng of people on the shore of Galilee. They’ve been waiting for Jesus’ return since early morning, and as He steps from the boat, they press close around Him, following Him into the village of Capernaum. Suddenly, Jairus, ruler of the synagogue, appears and begs Jesus to come to make his daughter well.

One of the people in the crowd is a woman who has been unwell for many years. She’s spent all her money on doctors, but she “was no better, but rather grew worse” (Mark 5:26, NKJV). She’s heard about this great Man of Galilee and, with hope in her heart, gathers what little strength she had to leave her house that morning to join the crowd. The press of the people feels almost suffocating as she inches closer to Jesus. And then, through the pushing and shoving, she sees Him. She encourages herself: “ ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well’ ” (Mark 5:28, NKJV).

Read Mark 5:21–34. What happened, and what can we learn?

This incident shows Jesus’ care and compassion for the sick and lonely, and those usually lost in the crowd. Many that day were pressing close to Jesus’ side as they drifted along with the crowd, but only one intentionally reached out to touch Jesus to receive the blessing she so desperately needed. However, it wasn’t her touch that healed her; it was her faith that made her well (Mark 5:34). “The Saviour could distinguish the touch of faith from the casual contact of the careless throng.”—Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 344. Jesus’ garment held no special power; rather, it was the woman’s faith and her choice to reach out to touch Him that healed her.

That frail woman, in her suffering and distress, could have stayed in bed at home on that morning, but instead, she deliberately sought Jesus out in the hope of healing. Seeing Him at a distance wasn’t enough; she drew close to Him.

Jesus beckons us to do the same today. He says, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matt. 11:28, 29, NLT).
How did this woman in such great need demonstrate the ideas in Romans 5:3–5? What might this look like in your life?
