RCZ OFFICIALLY OPENS THE 34TH SYNOD COUNCIL, CALLS FOR GREATER PARTICIPATION IN GODโS MISSION.
The Reformed Church has officially opened its 34th Synod Council under the theme Participating in Godโs Mission drawn from Matthew 28:18โ20 with church leaders calling on members to renew their commitment to mission, unity, peace and the development of the church.
Official opening by the Synod Council, RCZ Synod Moderator Rev. Ackson Banda Under the theme Kutengako Mbali ku Nchito ya Mulungu. challenges every church member to take an active role in Godโs work.
Rev. Banda also called on all RCZ congregations to embrace the churchโs strategic priorities and contribute to the successful implementation of its vision for 2030.
He highlighted the need for stronger work in the areas of mission, governance, human dignity, family strengthening, digital transformation, gender equality and health promotion.
According to Rev. Banda, strengthening these areas will help position the RCZ as a vital instrument in the management and development of the church and its ministry.
He further said that that the church is working towards the launch of RCZ Digital Management System, which is expected to translate the churchโs digital transformation efforts into tangible benefits for its congregations and administration.
Rev. Banda also called for renewed commitment to the mission and welfare of the church across all 19 presbyteries, urging members to remain loyal and actively participate in the work of the church.
On governance, the Bishop encouraged members to exercise wisdom in decision-making, particularly regarding the adoption of the proposed draft constitution.
He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the Human Capital Commission and other church structures.
The Moderator thanked every RCZ member for praying for peace during and after the elections, saying the peaceful environment demonstrated the importance of prayer and unity among citizens.
