Before we begin Part 2 of the Thursday Table Discipleship Series⏯️, let us take a little detour & answer some of the questions many we have in our walk with Christ✝️. The answers arent found in opinions, but in the unchanging Word of God.🤍
1. Why don’t I feel God?
God’s presence is not determined by your emotions but by His promise. He doesn’t move by man’s emotions but by his unconditional love and tender mercies
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7
⸻
2. Is it okay to ask God questions?
Yes. God invites those who sincerely seek Him. Ask in faith, and He will give wisdom according to His will.
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” — Jeremiah 33:3
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God…” — James 1:5
⸻
3. What if I keep falling into the same sin?
Failure is not your identity. Repent, rise again, and allow God’s grace to transform your life. No guilt is too crimson that he can’t wash white as wool.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9
“For sin shall not have dominion over you…” — Romans 6:14
⸻
4. Does God still speak today?
Yes. God still speaks through His Word, by His Spirit, and He always leads His children in truth. Yesterday today & forever the same.
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” — Isaiah 30:21 (NIV)
⸻
5. How do I know God’s will?
God reveals His will to those who trust Him, obey His Word, and allow Him to direct their steps. Pray and be open to work his will.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart… and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
⸻
6. Why does God feel silent?
His presence is not always found in the dramatic, but often in the gentle whisper. Like Elijah, we must learn to listen beyond the noise, for God is near even when we cannot feel Him.
“After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.” — 1 Kings 19:12 (NIV)
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
⸻
7. How do I pray?
Prayer is simply a conversation with God. Jesus said, “When you pray, say…”—teaching us that we should speak to our Father. The Bible also tells us to go to a place of solitude, where we can be alone with Him, (Quiet Time: Phase 2 (Part 1 of the Thursday Table Discipleship Series)) .But prayer is not limited to a quiet place; it is a lifestyle. God is saying, “Talk to Me at all times—I am here.”
“When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be your name…’” — Luke 11:2 (NIV)
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.” — Matthew 6:6 (NIV)
⸻
8. What should I do after giving my life to Christ?
Remain rooted in Christ. Continue in His Word, grow in prayer, fellowship with believers, and live a life that reflects Him.
“They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship… and in prayers.” — Acts 2:42
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him…” — Colossians 2:6–7
