THE ROAD TO SEXUAL SIN NEVER STARTS IN THE BEDROOM
A note to every Christian.
Have you ever wondered why some people who once said,
"I will never commit s*x outside marriage,"
eventually find themselves trapped in it?
Do you think s*xual sin starts the moment two people enter a bedroom?
The Bible teaches something different.
Sexual sin rarely starts with a physical act.
It starts with a heart that slowly drifts away from God.
It starts with compromises that seem harmless.
A lingering look.
An inappropriate conversation.
Flirtatious messages.
A private meeting.
Po*******hy.
Romantic fantasies.
A refusal to establish boundaries.
Jesus exposed the real battlefield.
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Matthew 5:28
Notice that Jesus did not start with the bedroom.
He started with the heart.
Because every sinful action is first conceived within.
The story of David teaches the same lesson.
David did not begin with adultery.
He began with a look.
Instead of turning away, he entertained what he saw.
His eyes influenced his thoughts.
His thoughts shaped his desires.
His desires directed his actions.
One compromise led to another until he committed adultery, arranged a murder, and brought great sorrow upon himself and his family.
Sin never advertises its final destination.
It only invites you to take the first step.
James describes this progression.
"But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fully grown, gives birth to death."
James 1:14ā15
That is why the battle for s*xual purity is won or lost long before physical temptation appears.
It is won in our thoughts, our private lives, and by the decisions nobody else sees.
The videos we watch.
The music we consume.
The conversations we entertain.
The people we spend time with.
