Re: Clarification on Our Trending Song “Aweh Aweh Timafuno Kondwa”
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
We have noted the conversations and concerns circulating online regarding our recent trending video, particularly around the line _“aweh aweh timafuno kondwa”.
First, we thank everyone who has watched, shared, and engaged with the song. It is encouraging to see how God is using music to reach people.
We understand that some feel the lyrics sound too “worldly” and that we may have moved away from the spiritual. To clarify: the song was composed has a theme song, We used creativity in our writing to communicate joy, celebration, and thanksgiving in a way that resonates with young people today, while keeping Christ at the center.
The phrase “timafuno kondwa” means “we want to rejoice”. Rejoicing is biblical - Psalms 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Our intent is to lead people into praise and to make the gospel understandable and relatable, even to those who may not usually listen to gospel music.
Even Reverends, Pastors and Preachers, they use some words just to make people understand and draw attention of the ordinance and they have reached out to say the song helps to explain the message of joy and salvation in a simpler way. There is nothing in the lyrics that contradicts the gospel or our calling as Ambassadors of Christ.
We ask the public to watch the full video on our official page to understand the context, message, and spirit of the song. Short clips can sometimes misrepresent the full intent.
Our mission remains the same: to preach the gospel of God through music and to draw people closer to Christ. We welcome constructive feedback and ask for continued prayers as we serve.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
