(John 14:1-6)

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

(Luke 11:37-41)

And as he spake, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to meat. And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner. And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also? But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

VERSE
“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: ”
Isaiah 44:3 KJV

DEVOTION
There are certain conditions upon which we may expect that God will hear and answer our prayers. One of the first of these is that we feel our need of help from Him. He has promised, "I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground." Isaiah 44:3. Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, who long after God, may be sure that they will be filled.

VERSE
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
-- Philippians 4:19
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
We had been on a long journey and I sang a gospel song. Others joined in, and the trees seemed to be clapping in praise. When we arrived at our destination, I had nowhere to stay. But then a stranger offered me a place to stay and a warm meal. I was reminded that when God calls us to serve, He will provide for us. He will never leave us or forsake us.

PRAYER
O Lord, grant us the strength to follow Your will today and the faith to recognize Your blessings. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

VERSE OF THE DAY
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
-- Titus 3:4-5
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
God's mercy saves us from our sin. Jesus showed us this. Napoleon Bonaparte showed mercy to a criminal, even though he didn't deserve it. We can experience God's mercy too, not because of our own righteousness, but because of His grace.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, when I'm feeling anxious and uncertain, fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to remember that my relationship with you is based on your grace and mercy, not on what I do for you. Amen.

VERSE OF THE NIGHT
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
-- Luke 10:27
KJV Holy Bible

DEVOTION
Give yourself to Jesus and let Him be the Lover of your soul. Embrace passionate love and let your deepest desires be known. Serve Him with joy and be willing to sacrifice. Find joy in the union of your hearts.

PRAYER
Lord, I never want to go anywhere without You. I don't want to do anything that You can't be a part of. I want to love You with all my being. I echo Your words to our Father, "I want to do what You want me to do, God."

O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.
Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;
And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.
So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations. Psalm 79:8-13

VERSE
Colossians 3:16 (KJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

INSPIRATION
Personally, an operative word in this Colossians passage above is that of ‘dwell’ as it relates to the riches and reward of wisdom. It suggests a sort of anthropomorphism of Christ’s word, wherein it signifies a kind of inhabitant within oneself, with whom one shares and gains. Accepting Christ’s word as if it were an inhabitant within one's soul has a profound impact upon one's sense of self, as well as ultimately ones interactions with others. If one learns to love this dweller, through whom we may gain wisdom and love, it then promises to bleed into all other relations, in goodness and in kind -as highlighted in the second part of the passage.

PRAYER
My God my Heavenly Father, let Your word dwell within my heart. Nurture in me a better understanding of its divine truth so as to give me wisdom, and ignite in me the will to share Your message of love. Your psalms I will sing and Your bread I will break with all others who open their hearts as I have done to You Lord, my Heavenly Father and His Holy Son.

VERSE
Romans 5:6-8 (KJV) For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

INSPIRATION
Many of us would be hypothetically willing to die for our friends or family. Would you be willing to sacrifice yourself for someone that you knew was evil? Someone that was working against you? Christ did exactly that. He sacrificed himself so that our sins could be purged. It was a decision based on love, an undying love for us that we do not deserve, but we have it. Cherish it.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I can never repay the debt that I have to You. I pray that I can be used as a vessel to carry Your teachings to others. Give me the strength and willingness to sacrifice my own life if it is in accordance with Your divine plan, and the foresight to understand where the plan shall take me. I pray this in the name of Your son, who died for our sins. Amen.
