OPENING CEREMONY AT LAVIGERIE FORMATION CENTER – CHIPATA
On 12 September, Lavigerie Formation Center, Chipata, joyfully celebrated the Opening Ceremony of the Formation Year, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the formation journey of 17 Missionaries of Africa candidates.
The ceremony began with the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Moses Ndhlovu, Pastoral Coordinator of Chipata Diocese, on behalf of the Local Ordinary. Through the Eucharist, we entrusted the new candidates, their formation journey, and the entire formation community to the grace and guidance of God.
We were deeply blessed by the presence of our Confreres of the Missionaries of Africa, local clergy, religious men and women serving in Chipata, formation houses and their candidates, friends and well-wishers, members of the Lavigerie Family, and the English Choir from St. Atanasio, Mchini Parish, whose presence and beautiful singing added joy and solemnity to the celebration.
We warmly welcome the 17 candidates to Lavigerie Formation Center and accompany them with our prayers as they begin this important stage of discernment, human, spiritual, intellectual, and missionary formation.
May the Lord guide and strengthen them throughout their journey and help them generously respond to His call to become Missionaries of Africa.
