Anglican Diocese of Eastern Zambia I came that they may have life and life in its fullness, John 10:10 The diocese is found in the Eastern province of Zambia with its Diocesan Office in Chipata.

The Anglican Diocese of Eastern Zambia is one of the 5 dioceses in Zambia and a diocese found in the Church of the Province of Central Africa. Chipata City is the Provincial Capital of the Eastern Province. The province has a population of about 1.7 million covering 8 districts. The diocese has 11 parishes spread through out the province. The diocese was curved out of Lusaka diocese in June 1995 w

hen Bishop John Osmers was elected the first Bishop of the Eastern Diocese. Bishop John Osmer, a New Zealand served the diocese from 1995 to February 2003 when he resigned after reaching the retirement age. In 2003 the Electoral college met in Chipata to elect Bishop John Osmers' successor, and Bishop William Mchombo, former Dean of St. Luke's Cathedral, Msoro was elected as the Second Bishop of the diocese.

The Anglican Diocese of Eastern Zambia Young Advocates in Climate Waste We Care Project in Chipata harvesting their vegetables in readiness for marketing. The group drawn from parishes in Chipata are running this garden for income generating activities. They have been involved in waste management and environment cleaning with the Chipata City Council.

The Western Archdeaconry Lay Readers Training that took place from 7-9 May 2026 at St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Petauke saw 90 participants certified to preach in our churches and parishes.
We are grateful to God for the ministry of these servants of God who are serving God in the vineyard.
Thank you Training Department, Mission, Evangelism and Church Growth Department especially Fr Emmanuel Mwale and Dean Jacob Manda for facilitating these activities in the four of five Archdeaconries covered so far. We are also grateful to Archdeacon Kapomba Sekeleti , your staff Rev. Fr. John Emmanuel Kapambwe, Canon George Mwanza, Harrison Banda, Elias Mwale and others.
The next steps will be all Church Executives Leadership across the diocese.
