Chingola.

Apostle Steven Sikobela conducted a Divine Service at Chingola Central Congregation, where he encouraged believers to remain focused on God’s purpose and not allow distractions, criticism or personal challenges to weaken their faith.

Text read: Luke 7:33–35,

[33]For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ [34]The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

Message: Imitating Christ is a source of Joy.

In his sermon, Apostle Sikobela reminded the 344 present not to let small things distract them from accepting the Gospel. He encouraged members to focus on the Word of God rather than the people He uses to spread it and not to expect perfection in the congregation. Instead, he urged them to follow the example of Jesus Christ by accepting and loving others despite their imperfections. He said doing so would help them find joy in God’s work, bring hope to others and lead many to salvation.

During the service, District Rectors Albert Phiri and Katungu Kalaluka, as well as Assistant District Rector Fred Siambwenda, were called upon to serve.

After the service, Apostle Sikobela reaffirmed the visitation thr Chief Apostle to Chingola Central in 2029.

Apostle Steven Sikobela had a packed weekend. On Saturday 18th July 2026 he drove into Mufulira from his home in Ndola, covering some 70 kilometers driving both on a new road as well as dusty stretches, his focus was Mitundu Congregation where he was set to dedicate a new church in the afternoon!

DEDICATION OF MITUNDU CHURCH

Mitundu congregation is within the Mutundu South community, a semi rural farming area off the Ndola-Mufulira Highway.

The congregation was established in 1993, with the first service conducted by Shepherd Kenneth Mukelabai in the home of Sister Boas. Over the years, with the growth of membership, construction of a permanent structure began in 2016. The congregation has a membership of 60 cared for by an Evangelist (Congregational Rector) and two Priests! The congregation is part of the Kamuchanga District Rector Area under District Rector Geoffrey Mush*tala and Assistant District Rectors Luke Kapindula and Wesley Kakondo.

For the dedication service, the Apostle read from Psalm 57: 1-2. "Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. I will cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me."

He called up District Rector Kalaluka Katungu (Chibwe District Rector Area, Chingola) and Assistant District Rector Stanley Chulu, (Chingola Central District) as well as the host District Rector Geoffrey Mush*tala. Retired Apostle Mwansa was in attendance. 141 people attended the service, in which he sealed 9 souls.

After service, the Apostle and entourage visited the funeral house for Apostle Martin Mutondo's brother in law who passed away on Thursday 16th July and was put to rest on Saturday, 18th July.

SERVICE AT KAWAMA EAST

On Sunday, 19th July, the Apostle headed to Kawama East Congregation (Mufulira Pamodzi District Rector), where he served the joyful congregation, basing his sermon on Matthew 6: 11 "Give us this day, our daily bread." He called up District Rector Mike Mwanaute (host), District Rector Albert Phiri (Mufulira West) and District Rector David Nalumino Mwiya (Mufulira Central). 480 attended the service, and 44 souls were sealed, in attendance was retired Apostle Jacob Mwansa.

CHOIR REVIEW AND ADHOC MEETING
After lunch, the Apostle had another engagement, this time Chingola, to attend a choir review at Chingola Central Church where the choir and orchestra were preparing for the District Apostle's service for Saturday, 25th July 2026 when he will dedicate Matelo Church (Nchanga District). After spending some time with the choir, the Apostle headed to Nchanga Congregation for the first part of the adhoc meeting before moving to site, at Matelo Church, to assess the progress on the construction works and conclude the meeting there. He concluded his weekend program at Matelo late afternoon and embarked on the long trip back home to Ndola.

Indeed, it was criss-crossing the Apostle Area!

The District Apostle Kububa Soko will be visiting Chingola-Mufulira Apostle Area this Saturday, 25th July 2026 where he is scheduled to inaugurate Matelo Church in Chingola!

AN EMOTIONAL VISIT OF APOSTLE SIKOBELA TO HIS FORMER WORKING AREA!

By David Nalumino Mwiya

Wednesday, 15th July 2026, was an extraordinary day for our dear Apostle Steven Sikobela. He joined his counterpart Apostle James Kasongo on a program to Matipa Congregation, on the Ndola-Kapiri Mposhi Highway.

Matipa Congregation is part of Ndola Mushili District Rector Area, created in March 2025, under the leadership of the then newly appointed District Rector Steven Sikobela. His joy was great to meet brethren he had worked with and whom he had not seen in a while. "It was very emtional," said the Apostle!

The service was two fold; commeration of the calling and separation of the first Apostles of the modern age on 14th July 1835 in London and also the dedication of Matipa church!

The dedication itself is a precursor for the Apostle, as he is set to conduct his first inauguration service, when he dedicates Mitundu Church in the Mufulira Kamuchanga District Rector Area on Saturday, 18th July 2026.
