📖 *PSALM 07*
*Summary*
_Psalm 7 is a prayer for deliverance from persecution, attributed to David. It is a cry of innocence and a call for divine justice._
1️⃣ *Verses 1-9 – A Prayer for Justice*
#️⃣ David takes refuge in God, asking to be saved from those who pursue him.
⏩ He vigorously protests his innocence, stating that if he has done any evil, he deserves to be pursued and destroyed.
⏩ He invites God to search his heart and judge him according to his righteousness.
⏩ This psalm contains the powerful imagery of the wicked digging a pit and falling into it. The evil they plan returns upon their own heads.
2️⃣ *Verses 10-17 – The Righteous Judge*
#️⃣ This reflects the biblical principle of retributive justice — what you sow, you will reap.
⏩ David's confidence is not in his own righteousness alone but in the character of God as a righteous Judge who is angry with the wicked every day.
⏩ The psalm ends with a resolve to praise the Lord according to His righteousness and to sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.
⏩ This is a declaration that God's justice is a cause for worship. In the context of the Great Controversy, this psalm assures us that God will ultimately vindicate His people and judge the wicked.
