The GOSPEL ACCORDING TO PROFIT
By Apostle Alex De Oracle of strategic prayer
I have a serious question for the body of Christ, especially concerning many gospel artists today.
Why is it that most artists who host crossover night concerts do not seem to have a stable church where they serve? And if they do have churches, why don’t they stand with their pastors and congregations on such an important night?
Crossover night has now become a business show. Many artists are no longer focused on blessing people they are focused on filling venues and collecting money. But as a gospel artist, your first responsibility is to your church, your pastor, and your spiritual base.
Every true gospel minister must belong to a church. Your pastor needs you. Your church needs your presence. You cannot call yourself a gospel minister yet abandon your own church to organize your own crossover event.
The danger is this: these concerts are now pulling believers away from their churches. Members are skipping their own church crossover simply because their favorite minister is holding another event somewhere else. Whether knowingly or not, this encourages rebellion and weakens the unity of the church.
And let’s be honest the atmosphere at some of these concerts, especially the dressing, is far from what we expect in a holy Christian gathering.
Gospel artists must remember: you are not just performers you are ministers of the gospel. Your place in the church is important and your accountability is necessary. If your church is having a crossover service and you choose to hold your own, then we must ask: Do you really have a church? Who are you accountable to?
Let’s bring back order, accountability, and respect for the church of Christ. The gospel is not business. Ministry is not entertainment. And crossover night is not a concert it is a sacred moment before God
