Sunday Service Highlights 27th September, 2026.

Sermon: Walking in the blessings of God

Scripture: Deuteronomy 28:1-14

‭Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NIV‬
[1] If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. [2] All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

- Blessings are not automatic, rather you need to obey God's laws for you to enjoy the benefits of His blessings. (Matthews 22:36-40)

- Just like God saved the Israelites from their oppressors in Egypt, He [God] through the blood of the Lamb of God has redeemed us from the world of sin of darkness and brought us into His wonderful light of His Son, Jesus Christ 🕯️. We are now under a new covenant.

- If we carefully obey these laws, all of God's blessings will follow us where we go. (Luke 10:29-37)

- Don't just know the laws, obey them too then you'll receive God's blessings as promised in His Word. God has already set the way before us, it's all up to us we fix our eyes unto Him. (Galatians 5:13-14 NIV‬ and Romans 5:5b)

[8] If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right.

Preaching Point

‭Lamentations 2:19 NIV‬
[19] Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at every street corner.

This portion of scripture says that; "It isn’t good to keep all our struggles inside. We’re not meant to keep all of our thoughts, feelings, concerns and emotions inside of our hearts, it’s not good for us! We’re meant to pour out our hearts to God."

Sermon: HOW CAN WE FEED ON THE WORD OF GOD??
Scripture: Jeremiah 15:16

- When we're hungry and smell nice food but don't partake of it, we won't be satisfied 🤤 not until we eat the food than we'll get rid of starvation. Our strength is restored and we can do tasks. Similarly, when we find the Word of God but don't feed on it, it'll not work for us. We must stand on His Word that speaks to our struggles and breaks every limitations.

- How then do we find God's Word??

1. Study (2 Timothy 2:15)
- Understanding the Word of God helps us to use it in our daily lives for different occasions. Put effort in understanding His Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.

2. Meditation (Joshua 1:8, Luke 16:16, 1 Corinthians 4:20)
- Whatever your greatest desire, it is found in the Word of God. God wants us to see our circumstances change for the better.

- Some christians behave like they have contraceptives which prevents God's Word from being fruitful in their lives. (Romans 10:17, Hebrews 4:12, Revelations 3:20)

3. Application (James 1:22, Luke 6:46-49)
- Let the Word work for you s you apply scripture in your life. Use God's Word and see how effective it is. Applying the Word brings growth and tremendous transformation in our livelihoods. (Hebrews 5:11-14)

- How often do we nourish our spiritual lives with God's Word??

- We find and use the Word when faced with a dire situation. God's Word will address the problem to the things around us.

- Don't just merely quote scripture, consume the Word and be consumed by it. (1 Peter 2:2)

- Many Christians today experience stunted growth because they don't desire to feed their spiritual lives with God's Word. We should eat the Word everyday (Hebrews 5:11-14)

- If you stop reading the Bible, you'll become like malnourished children in mannerism and conduct, cease not to pray 🙏🏾.

- Reading the Bible means improving your spiritual stamina.
