A Call for Courage and Democratic Integrity
Hon. Gary Nkombo , Remain steadfast. True leadership is often tested during the most difficult moments, when standing by one's convictions demands courage and resilience.
History has consistently shown that those who choose conviction over convenience leave a lasting impact. While the path may not always be easy, leaders who uphold democratic values and act in the public interest are rarely alone. The people are watching, and many recognize the importance of courage, integrity, and accountability in public service.
It is deeply concerning and ethically troubling to witness hostility, intimidation, or any form of undue pressure during a period when every citizen should be free to exercise their democratic rights without fear. Democracy thrives when differing views are respected, when public debate is conducted with civility, and when leaders prioritize the welfare of the nation above personal or political interests.
At this critical moment, Zambia needs leaders who are committed to protecting democratic principles, defending the rights of citizens, and fostering unity rather than division. Remaining firm in these values is not only a test of leadership but also a service to the nation and future generations.
The strength of a democracy lies in the courage of its people and the integrity of those entrusted with public office. May these principles continue to guide all those who seek to serve Zambia.
