Woord van die Week – 15 Junie 2025
Tema: Die Beeld van CHRISTUS
Skrifgedeelte: Psalm 103:10–21
Vadersdag-boodskap:
Vandag eer ons vaders – maar ons vra ook: Is jy net ’n vleeslike vader, of ’n geestelike een? Die Woord sê die man moet sy ouerhuis verlaat en sy vrou aankleef – en saam vorm hulle 'n nuwe gesin. Die goeie saad wat jy in jou kind se hart saai, is die fondasie wat hom sal dra deur die storms van die lewe.
Petrus her JESUS verloën. Ná drie en ’n half jaar saam, en selfs ná beloftes aan HOM by die laaste maaltyd het hy HOM drie keer verloën. Die Evangelies beskryf hoe Petrus, in sy oomblik van beproewing, sy verbintenis met JESUS ontken het. Dat hy gevloek het, wys hoe sterk die houvas van vrees was. Petrus het later bitterlik geween oor sy ontkenning.
Lees in Jakobus 3 oor die tong. Dis nie net skinder nie, maar ook swak en kras taal, en vloek wat vrugte van die vlees is.
Die WOORD het vlees geword - JESUS het gekom in menslike gestalte – nie om as GOD te heers nie, maar om te wys hóé om as mens volgens GOD se Wil te leef. EN as ons ewige Hoëpriester.
Johannes 1:12-13
Maar almal wat Hom aangeneem het, aan hulle het Hy mag gegee om kinders van GOD te word, aan hulle wat in Sy Naam glo;
[13] wat nie uit die bloed of uit die wil van die vlees of uit die wil van 'n man nie, maar uit GOD gebore is.
Dan is ons die Beeld van CHRISTUS - ons leefwyse soos HY geleef en geleer het.
Wat keer jou om vandag om jou lewe aan CHRISTUS te gee? Die man langs JESUS aan die kruis is gered in sy laaste oomblik, maar moenie wag vir daardie oomblik nie. As CHRISTUS verskyn, en jou leefwyse getuig nie van HOM nie, is dit te laat.
Ware geloof bring gehoorsaamheid voort, en gehoorsaamheid versterk jou geloof. Dit is ’n leefwyse wat ingeoefen moet word.
Moenie die Beeld van CHRISTUS deur sonde verloor nie – die loon van die sonde is die dood.
In CHRISTUS is daar geen geslag nie – jy word die bruid van die Bruidegom. Ná die dood bly net jou gees en siel oor – nie jou geslag nie. As jy nie die regte kleed dra nie, kan jy nie aan die bruilof deelneem nie (Matthéüs 22). Gaan jou kleed wêrelds wees – van ’n bok – of rein en wit soos dié van die Lam?
Erken en bely jy GOD as jou VADER? Het jy nog die begeerte dat HY tevrede moet wees met jou leefwyse, dat HY 'n behae in jou sal hê?
Jy is hier om SY Koninkryk uit te bou (Jakobus 3:17), en te stry teen jou vlees wat wil heers. Jy moet selfbeheersing toon (Efesiërs 4:27).
Kom in lyn met GOD se Woord. Vrees HOM, los ongeregtigheid en soek versoening met HOM.
Kies LEWE - moenie lou wees nie. Jy is wonderbaarlik gemaak deur CHRISTUS om SY Naam groot te maak. Jy is deel van GOD se Almag en kan ’n held in SY Koninkryk wees. Daar is krag in die Naam van CHRISTUS JESUS - in SY Naam kan ons Vrug dra, oor die bose regeer en werk vir SY Eer.
Sit hierdie week daad by die Woord en wees die Beeld van CHRISTUS.

Word of the Week – 15 June 2025
Theme: The Image of CHRIST
Scripture: Psalm 103:10–21
Father’s Day Message:
Today we honour fathers – but we also ask: Are you merely a biological father, or are you a spiritual one? The Word says a man must leave his father’s house and cleave to his wife – and together they form a new family. The good seed you sow into your child’s heart becomes the foundation that will carry him/her through life’s storms.
Peter denied JESUS. After three and a half years together, and even after making promises at the last supper, he denied HIM three times. The Gospels describe how Peter, in his moment of testing, denied his connection to JESUS. The fact that he swore shows how strong fear’s grip was. Peter later wept bitterly over his denial.
Read James 3 about the tongue. It's not only gossip, but also crude and harsh language, and swearing – all are fruits of the flesh.
The WORD became flesh – JESUS came in human form – not to reign as GOD, but to show us how to live as humans according to GOD’s Will. And as our eternal High Priest.
John 1:12–13
[12] But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of GOD, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name–[Isa. 56:5.]
[13] Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to GOD. [They are born of GOD!]
Then we are the Image of CHRIST – our lifestyle reflects how HE lived and taught.
What is stopping you today from surrendering your life to CHRIST? The man beside JESUS on the cross was saved in his final moment, but don’t wait for that moment. If CHRIST appears and your lifestyle does not testify of HIM, it will be too late.
True faith produces obedience, and obedience strengthens your faith. It’s a way of life that must be practiced.
Don’t lose the Image of CHRIST through sin – the wages of sin is death.
In CHRIST there is no gender – you become the bride of the Bridegroom. After death, only your spirit and soul remain – not your gender. If you are not wearing the proper garment, you cannot take part in the wedding feast (Matthew 22). Will your garment be worldly – like that of a goat – or pure and white like that of the Lamb?
Do you acknowledge and confess GOD as your FATHER? Do you still have the desire for HIM to be pleased with your lifestyle, for HIM to delight in you?
You are here to build HIS Kingdom (James 3:17), and to fight against your flesh that seeks to rule. You must show self-control (Ephesians 4:27).
Come in alignment with GOD’s Word. Fear HIM, turn away from unrighteousness, and seek reconciliation with HIM.
Choose LIFE – do not be lukewarm. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by CHRIST to glorify HIS Name. You are part of GOD’s Power and can be a hero in HIS Kingdom.
There is power in the Name of CHRIST JESUS – in HIS Name we can bear fruit, reign over evil, and work for HIS Glory.
Put the Word into action this week and be the Image of CHRIST.

Ons dansgroep het op Vadersdag al die pappas en oupas bedien met die lied 'Wys my die pad'. Waarlik ’n hartsbegeerte wat elke ouer in gebed aan ons Hemelse VADER moet bekend maak. Baie dankie aan elkeen wat deel was van hierdie spesiale dag.

WOORD VIR DIE WEEK
Tema: Is jy nog op reis met JESUS CHRISTUS?
Skrifgedeelte: Handelinge 28:1-10
*(Lees ook Handelinge 27 vir beter insig in hierdie verhaal.)
Om saam met CHRISTUS te reis is nie opsioneel nie – jy het aangemeld as SY dienskneg (Johannes 14:23). Daarom moet jy glo in GOD se Woord sodat jy die evangelie in Gees en Waarheid kan verkondig.
Kind van GOD, jy is doelgerig geskape. Sal jy, soos Paulus, getrou bly aan GOD se Woord en diensbaar bly in jou Skeppingsdoel te midde van moeilike omstandighede?
As jou geloof in JESUS CHRISTUS geanker is, gaan jy seerkry, maar nie ondergaan nie, want wat in jou is, is groter as wat teenoor jou staan. Ander mag oordeel uitspreek oor jou, maar niemand kan jou geloof of jou Kindskap in CHRISTUS van jou wegneem nie.
GOD het baie in Paulus belê – weet jy hoeveel HY in jou belê het? Wanneer jy van GOD se pad afdwaal, sal HY jou stop en terugbring.
Die inboorlinge op die eiland het nie die evangelie geken nie, maar deur GOD se krag wat in Paulus gewerk het, het hulle geglo. Al was Paulus oppad na gevangenisskap, moes hy steeds arbei om GOD se evangelie aan hulle te bring – soos GOD dit beplan het.
GOD het die inboorlinge voorberei vir Paulus en die manskappe - die inboorlinge het buitengewone mensliewendheid aan hulle bewys. Wanneer jy soggens in jou binnekamer GOD eer en erken, sal HY jou Leidsman wees en mense die Beeld van GOD in jou ervaar. As SY Woord in jou leef, kan GOD jou gebruik.
Op jou reis gaan hindernisse kom. As jy jou fokus verskuif na mense en nie op GOD hou nie, gaan jy verlore wees. Jy móét aanhou, want jou naam is reeds geskryf in die Boek van die Lewe. Al kry jy seer, moet die Evangelie steeds verkondig word – jy is GOD se werktuig.
Paulus het, pas ná ‘n skipbreuk, steeds diens gelewer. D**k jy die duiwel hou daarvan as jy ‘n dienskneg is? Beslis nie. Jy is nie gevrywaar van seerkry nie, maar onthou: jy werk op opdrag van die Almagtige GOD, en wat in jou is, is groter as die aanslae van die vyand. GOD het Paulus gespaar toe die adder hom gepik het – dieselfde GOD beskerm jou.
Waar sou ons gewees het sonder GOD se Liefde? Ons was verlore, totdat ons SY Liefde ontdek het en ons sonde op JESUS CHRISTUS geplaas het. Neem en eet die Brood van die Lewe, laat SY Bloed jou reinig.
Moenie ‘n klein "godjie" in jouself raak nie. Dis wat in jou is – JESUS CHRISTUS – wat jou heilig maak.
Bid soos CHRISTUS ons geleer het (Matthéüs 6:9). Dra jy nog die wapenrusting van GOD (Efesiërs 6:10)? Waarom stel jy GOD se Almag, jou beskerming teen die bose, uit?
Vrees GOD. Dis verskriklik om in die Hande van ‘n Lewende GOD te val. Moenie GOD speel nie – buig jou knieë sodat GOD ‘n welbehae in jou kan hê. Waak teen hoogmoed. Die Skrif waarsku: min sal dit maak. As jy heiligmaking nastreef, wil GOD jou gebruik, want jy is anders – dit is aangenaam om in jou teenwoordigheid te wees.
Moenie probeer "groot wees" nie – CHRISTUS sal jou op die regte tyd verhoog en Seën. JESUS CHRISTUS is GOD se reddende Regterhand. Ons verteenwoordig HOM – SY Lig en Krag is in jou. Wanneer jy HOM aantrek, sal jy diensbaar wees, en daar sal vrug wees op jou arbeid.
As CHRISTUS in jou leef, sal jy die vrug van die GEES dra – vrug waarmee ander gevoed kan word (Galasiërs 5:22). GOD wil hê jy moet bruikbaar wees vir SY Koninkryk. In JESUS CHRISTUS het jy die outoriteit om die bose te oorwin en seën uit te spreek.
GEBED: VADER, baie dankie vir die lering uit U Heilige Woord. Laat U Heilige GEES die Nawerker wees vir elkeen van ons. Help ons om aan U Woord vas te hou, dit te bewaar en te leef. U het ons eerste Liefgehad – nou kan ons ook sê: ons is Lief vir U. Behoed en bewaar ons in die Heilige Naam van JESUS CHRISTUS. Amen

WORD FOR THE WEEK
Theme: Are you still journeying with JESUS CHRIST?
Scripture: Acts 28:1–10
(Also read Acts 27 for better insight into this story.)
Journeying with CHRIST is not optional – you signed up as HIS servant (John 14:23). Therefore, you must believe in GOD’s Word so that you can proclaim the gospel in Spirit and in Truth.
Child of GOD, you were created with purpose. Will you, like Paul, remain faithful to GOD’s Word and stay useful in your divine calling despite difficult circumstances?
If your faith is anchored in JESUS CHRIST, you will suffer, but you will not be overcome, for what is in you is greater than what stands against you. Others may judge you, but no one can take away your faith or your identity as a Child of GOD in CHRIST.
GOD invested greatly in Paul – do you know how much HE has invested in you? When you stray from GOD’s path, HE will stop you and bring you back.
The island natives didn’t know the gospel, but through the power of GOD working in Paul, they came to believe. Even though Paul was on his way to imprisonment, he still had to labor to bring GOD’s gospel to them – just as GOD had planned.
GOD had prepared the islanders for Paul and the men – they showed them extraordinary kindness. When you honor and acknowledge GOD in your inner room each morning, HE will lead you, and others will experience the Image of GOD in you. If HIS Word lives in you, GOD can use you.
Obstacles will arise on your journey. If you shift your focus to people instead of GOD, you will become lost. You must keep going, for your name is already written in the Book of Life. Even when you are hurting, the Gospel must still be proclaimed – you are GOD’s instrument.
Paul continued to serve even right after a shipwreck. Do you think the devil likes it when you are a servant? Certainly not. You are not exempt from pain, but remember: you work on the command of the Almighty GOD, and what is in you is greater than the attacks of the enemy. GOD spared Paul when the viper bit him – the same GOD protects you.
Where would we be without GOD’s Love? We were lost until we discovered HIS Love and placed our sin on JESUS CHRIST. Take and eat the Bread of Life, let HIS Blood cleanse you.
Don’t become a little “god” in yourself. It is what is in you – JESUS CHRIST – that sanctifies you.
Pray as CHRIST taught us (Matthew 6:9). Are you still wearing the full armor of GOD (Ephesians 6:10)? Why delay in trusting GOD’s Almighty power – your protection against evil?
Fear GOD. It is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living GOD. Don’t play with GOD – bow your knees so that HE may take delight in you. Guard against pride. Scripture warns: few will make it. If you pursue holiness, GOD wants to use you, because you are different – it is pleasant to be in your presence.
Don’t try to “be great” – CHRIST will exalt and bless you at the right time. JESUS CHRIST is GOD’s saving Right Hand. We represent HIM – HIS Light and Power are in you. When you clothe yourself with HIM, you will be useful, and your labor will bear fruit.
If CHRIST lives in you, you will bear the fruit of the SPIRIT – fruit that can feed others (Galatians 5:22). GOD wants you to be useful for HIS Kingdom. In JESUS CHRIST, you have the authority to overcome evil and to speak blessing.
PRAYER: FATHER, thank You for the teaching from Your Holy Word. Let Your HOLY SPIRIT be the Afterworker in each of our lives. Help us to hold fast to Your Word, to keep it, and to live it. You loved us first – now we can say: we love You. Keep and protect us in the Holy Name of JESUS CHRIST. Amen.

WOORD VIR DIE WEEK
Tema: TETELESTAI – Dit is volbring
Skrif: Johannes 19:28–30
Laat jou gees inneem wat die Woord van GOD sê: JESUS CHRISTUS is ons voorbeeld van hoe om te leef. Hierdie lering gaan oor die betekenis van die woord TETELESTAI – een van die laaste woorde wat CHRISTUS aan die kruis uitgespreek het. Wat sal jóú laaste woorde wees? Kan jy ook sê: “My skeppingsdoel vir die Koninkryk van GOD is volbring”?
As jou lewe in CHRISTUS is, is vergifnis reeds jou deel wanneer jy sterf. Hoe tragies om eers op jou sterfbed vergifnis te soek. Daar was 'n besluit in die hemelse Raadsaal oor jou bestaansdoel: oor jou gawes en talente, en die opdrag wat jy op aarde moes vervul. Jy sal eendag alleen voor GOD staan — en Hy sal vra of jy daardie skeppingsdoel vervul het.
Jy hoef nie eens in 'n kerk te wees nie, want die kerk red jou nie. Jou verhouding met JESUS CHRISTUS is wat tel. Hy alleen sal jou oordeel. Hoe nader jy aan Hom leef, hoe reiner jou gees. Geen mens gaan jou meet nie — net GOD.
Wees versigtig wat jy doen met die tyd wat GOD vir jou gegee het. Pas op aan wie jy jou ore uitleen. As jy sê dat jy vir JESUS volg en dat Hy in jou leef, moet jy Sy Woord toepas. CHRISTUS het geweet waarvoor Hy gestuur is — weet jy wat jou opdrag is? Werk jy met jou gawes en talente vir die Koninkryk van GOD, of net vir aardse oorlewing?
Toe JESUS aan die kruis was, het Hy geweet Hy het volbring waarvoor die VADER Hom gestuur het. Niks het Hom gepla nie. Kan jy dieselfde sê? Is daar iets wat jou pla, iets wat jy nog moet regmaak?
Kind van GOD, hoor mooi: wanneer jy jou asem uitblaas, is dit te laat om nog iets te doen. Soek GOD terwyl Hy nog te vinde is.
Die Skrif oor CHRISTUS is vervul. Wat staan in jou "skrif", en is jy besig om dit uit te leef sodat ook van jou gesê kan word: “Dit is vervul”?
Besef jy dat jy ook gestuur is om te dien in GOD se Koninkryk? Het jy jouself al beskikbaar gestel? Jy het nou tyd om jou lewe te gee. GOD weet die lewe is moeilik, maar Hy belowe om jou te dra. Lees Johannes 10:27 en Johannes 15:7.
Nou is die tyd om te spreek – CHRISTUS luister en Hy sal jou help om reg te maak. Die asyn en die hissopstengel wys op reiniging en genesing. CHRISTUS maak alles nuut. Dit is volbring – jy is gered, en niemand kan dit ongedaan maak nie. Alles wat uit Sy mond gekom het is suiwer. Al het ons tekortkominge, Sy Genade is genoeg.
Daar is niks meer wat CHRISTUS kan doen nie – Hy het alles gedoen. Sy Woord reinig dié wat in Hom glo, maak nie saak wat jou verlede is nie. Moenie op mense staatmaak nie; draai na GOD wat jou uit die Raadsaal van die hemel op aarde geplaas het.
Kind van GOD, word nederig voor GOD. Bid: “Wees my Genadig, JESUS CHRISTUS. Skep vir my ‘n rein hart en gee my ‘n vaste gees, o GOD.”
Gebed:
HERE, ek maak my gees oop dat U Heilige GEES in my kom woon. Dankie dat ons die tyd kan uitkoop om voor U te buig en U as Verlosser, Geneesheer en Voorsiener te erken. Die wêreld kan ons geen heerlikheid bied nie – net U. Ons eer U, HERE. Gee dat U GEES ons sal versterk om die ou lewe agter te laat.
HERE, ek wil nie deel hê aan dinge wat my van U af wegneem nie. Stop my! Gee my die krag en vermoë om U kind te wees. Ek wil nie geoordeel word as ‘n bok nie, maar as ‘n skaap wat U stem ken en U alleen volg. Wees ons genadig dat ons deel van die weinige sal wees wat deur die poort ingaan.
Dankie vir U liefde. Dankie dat U uitgeroep het: TETELESTAI – Dit is volbring. Neem oordeel uit ons harte weg sodat ons ons ewige woning kan bereik. Help ons om ons naaste lief te hê sonder om iets terug te verwag – ons beloning is by U. Help ons om U beeld te wees en ander nader aan U te trek. Versterk ons gees. Ons vra dit in die Naam van JESUS CHRISTUS.

WORD FOR THE WEEK
Theme: TETELESTAI – It Is Finished
Scripture: John 19:28–30

Let your spirit absorb what the Word of GOD says: JESUS CHRIST is our example of how to live. This teaching is about the meaning of the word TETELESTAI – one of the last words CHRIST spoke on the cross. What will your last words be? Can you also say: “My purpose for the Kingdom of GOD has been fulfilled”?

If your life is in CHRIST, forgiveness is already your portion when you die. How tragic it would be to seek forgiveness only on your deathbed. A decision was made in the heavenly Council regarding your purpose: your gifts and talents, and the mission you were to fulfill on earth. One day you will stand alone before GOD — and He will ask whether you fulfilled that purpose.

You don’t even need to be in a church, because the church doesn’t save you. Your relationship with JESUS CHRIST is what matters. He alone will be your Judge. The closer you live to Him, the purer your spirit becomes. No human being will measure you — only GOD.

Be careful how you use the time GOD has given you. Be cautious about whom you lend your ears to. If you claim to follow JESUS and that He lives in you, then apply His Word. CHRIST knew why He was sent — do you know what your assignment is? Are you using your gifts and talents for the Kingdom of GOD, or just for earthly survival?

When JESUS was on the cross, He knew He had completed what the FATHER had sent Him to do. Nothing troubled Him. Can you say the same? Is there something still troubling you — something that needs to be made right?

Child of GOD, listen closely: when you breathe your last breath, it’s too late to still make things right. Seek GOD while He may be found.

The Scripture about CHRIST was fulfilled. What is written in your “script,” and are you living it out so that it can also be said of you: “It is fulfilled”?

Do you realize that you too were sent to serve in GOD’s Kingdom? Have you made yourself available? You still have time to give your life. GOD knows life is hard, but He promises to carry you. Read John 10:27 and John 15:7.

Now is the time to speak — CHRIST is listening, and He will help you to make things right. The vinegar and hyssop point to cleansing and healing. CHRIST makes all things new. It is finished — you are saved, and no one can undo that. Everything that came from His mouth is pure. Even though we fall short, His Grace is enough.

There is nothing more CHRIST can do — He has done it all. His Word cleanses those who believe in Him, no matter their past. Do not rely on people; turn to GOD who placed you on earth from the heavenly Council.

Child of GOD, humble yourself before GOD. Pray:
“Be merciful to me, JESUS CHRIST. Create in me a clean heart and give me a steadfast spirit, O GOD.”

Prayer:
LORD, I open my spirit for Your Holy SPIRIT to dwell in me. Thank You that we can redeem the time to bow before You and acknowledge You as Redeemer, Healer, and Provider. The world offers us no glory — only You. We honor You, LORD. Let Your SPIRIT strengthen us to leave behind the old life.

LORD, I do not want any part in things that draw me away from You. Stop me! Give me the strength and ability to be Your child. I don’t want to be judged as a goat, but as a sheep who knows Your voice and follows You alone. Be merciful to us, that we may be part of the few who enter through the gate.

Thank You for Your love. Thank You that You cried out: TETELESTAI – It is finished. Remove judgment from our hearts so that we may reach our eternal home. Help us to love our neighbor without expecting anything in return — our reward is with You. Help us to reflect Your image and draw others closer to You. Strengthen our spirits. We ask this in the Name of JESUS CHRIST.
Amen.
