A BOOK IS BIRTHED (long before it's in print).
Blesfontein Guest Farm in Sutherland witnessed my hubby getting up close and personal with a baby alpaca. (It also looks like he has a ponytail, but no, that's one of my twin daughters behind him.)
Blesfontein in the Tankwa Karoo is simply magical and when we as a family visited there last year August, its unique charm compelled the writer in me to put pen to paper and create a relatable story which included the motley crew of animals on the farm.
On the second morning of our visit, my eyes shot open in the early hours, the rest of my family snug and sound asleep. What? I'm on holiday and I want to sleep, please. But no. I closed my eyes again with my heart and mind fully awake as an entire plot was, film-like, downloaded into my memory bank. I sat up in bed and started to write.
That was the inception of 'Coming Home - Blesfontein, a Place of Belonging', which is now ready for print.
