Friday, 28th August 2026, Chikhota community care groups took lead on nutrition awareness campaign which included nutritious cooking demonstrations held at Chikhota school in the area of senior chief cChilooko, Ntchisi. The initiative was organized by Good Results for All (GoRA) in collaboration with the District Health and Nutrition Offices under Maternal and Child Health Program supported by World Vision Malawi .
The campaign aims to promote and raise awareness in communities on importance of eating fortified balanced diet foods more especially to under five children, mothers and adolescent age groups using locally available resources.
Groups of both men and women prepared different nutritious meals that they exhibited explaining each ingredient they used and the role it plays in the body.
The campaign encourages men's participation since maternal and child health is often left to women alone yet men have an important role to play too. The turnout of men at the event was encouraging showing a positive shift towards shared responsibility in family health.
Additionally, the campaign also encouraged women, girls, boys and men to access Sexual Reproductive Health Services (SRHR) so that unwanted pregnancies and increased maternal deaths are prevented.
The campaign reached over 540 people.
Thank you to our partners and everyone who took part in making this impact possible.
