‼️Mothering/fathering a nation‼️
Judges 5:7 Village life ceased, it ceased in Israel,
Until I, Deborah, arose,
Arose a mother in Israel.
When Deborah arose a mother, she didn't arise to a title but a responsibility in a nation. I wonder what did it look like to mother a nation? I wonder what capacity did she need to be mother to an entire nation? I wonder what type of conversation did God have with her until she understood that she needed to arise as a mother?
Let's discuss Deborah as mantle and not a Woman. The mantle is:
1. Prophetic hearing and knowing the heart of God
2. Judge knowing the mind of God and giving verdicts
3. Wife to Lapidoth (Maintaining a marital covernent with light/torch)
4. Parent to a nation
5. Confrontational
6. Servant leader
Deborah didn't arise to a title but responsibility.
So many people are father's(not gender) yet their children have to survive on their own. It really troubles me when those who are father are mostly absent in their children's lives and show up in graduation and weddings. In the natural such a father is not a good father, why is it acceptable in the Christian community? Man accepting tittles they can't role? Leaving children confused and frustrated to only show up to claim fatherhood when the child wins?
I am not ignorant that a toddler, a teen, young adults and an adult child can't be parented the same. However I am crying out to say we need the father's to arise to the responsibility to father and not tittles. I say this with all humility, South Africa needs father's. This is my prayer, for father's to arise and occupy.
