Scripture

(2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)

The Two Yous
Two people live inside each of us. There’s the kind, disciplined, confident you, and there’s the critical, compromising, insecure you. Most of the time you’re kind and patient, but if somebody pushes the right buttons, the hurtful and impatient you comes out. There’s a battle constantly taking place between the two yous, between the flesh and the spirit, between your old carnal nature and your new redeemed nature.

When you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation. But the flesh, even though it’s passed away, can get back up.

Romans 8:13 says, “If you live by the flesh, you will die.” It means that if you’re always saying and doing what you feel like, your dreams and potential and relationships will die. It goes on to say, “But if through the Spirit, you mortify the flesh, you will live.” To “mortify” means to keep it dead. You have to decide to say no to the flesh. When you do the right thing when you’re tempted, you’ll keep the old man down.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can choose to be disciplined and kind and say no to the flesh and its desires. Thank You that every day I can take my feelings off the throne and allow Your Spirit to control my life. Help me to live by the Spirit and do what’s right. In JESUS CHRIST mighty name ’ , Amen.”

- Light changes the way we see everything around us.
- When we have light in our lives, we have the strength to face the day.
- You carry the light of God Almighty in and through your life.
- Don’t hide your light, but let it shine and give light to everyone around you.

PRAYER: ABBA Father , thank You that Your light is shining in my heart and life. I have hope, because Your light surrounds me and shows me the way I need to go. May I reflect this light into the darkness and bring Your hope and light to others in JESUS CHRIST mighty name . Amen.

Verse: Exodus 33:17 (NIV)

And the LORD said to Moses, ‘I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.’

- How awesome it is to know that we can ask God to intervene in our lives.
- We should not hesitate, but we should bring our requests to Him and ask.
- He is able, He is ready, and He is willing to hear our heart’s cry.
- He knows you and He knows your heart, and He wants to help you.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You love and care for me. Thank You that I can know Your favour and blessing on my life. I humbly bring my requests to You and ask that You would do miracles, in my life and in my situation in JESUSCHRIST mighty name. Amen.

PRAYER: Lord, we are living in a time of world-wide troubles and fear. But we will not look to the chaos and confusion around us, we will hold onto Your promises to us, and as a result we will be comforted and revived. Amen.
