On Sunday, 15 February 2026, during the Divine Service, Priest Community Evangelist Paul Cupido was officially transferred to Erica North Congregation. With gratitude for his dedicated service and spiritual guidance, the congregation bid him farewell and wished him strength and blessings for his continued ministry in his new field of labour.

This morning, our Young People gathered for a refreshing Beach Walk as part of our activity weekend ahead of the Young People’s Divine Service tomorrow.
Set against the beautiful coastline of Cape Town, it was a time of fellowship, laughter, and meaningful connection outside of our usual setting.
The walk provided an opportunity for everyone to unwind, strengthen friendships, and reflect spiritually as we prepare our hearts for worship.

Sunday Divine Service conducted by Shepherd Alphonso Philander and Priest Marco Alexander was called to serve along.

𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁: 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟮 (𝗡𝗞𝗝𝗩)
“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.”
𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲:
We have been called to follow Christ and proclaim His gospel.

On Monday, 8 December, the Confirmation class of 2025 celebrated their Valedictory. With a simple poem and duet from the young people, a heartfelt message of gratitude from the parents, and words of encouragement from the teachers, we happily sent the Confirmands on their journey of commitment.

The joy continued the next day, Tuesday 9 December, as the choir gathered for a short practice and then enjoyed a relaxed time of fellowship, sharing snacks, conversation, and a few cheerful moments together.

Little Christmas Carols

The Parow Valley congregation enjoyed a sweet mini Christmas concert right after the divine service on Sunday, 7 December. The orchestra played beautifully, the choir filled the hall with song, and the children added their own joyful noise.

It was a warm and festive moment for everyone

On Sunday, 7 December 2025, the Sunday School ended their year with a divine service led by Rector Shepherd Alphonso Philander.

The Bible text came from Luke 10:39 "Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word."

The children opened the service with their sweet rendition of “Heavenly Father, Are You Really There?” and closed it beautifully with the hymn “I Sing Praises.”

What an uplifting way to close the Sunday School year.

On Sunday 2 November 2025, Priest Carl Kolbe conducted the Service for the Departed in Parow Valley Congregation. The priest called upon Priest Sumesh Naidoo to serve.

A harmonious atmosphere was created by the orchestra and choir before the divine service, preparing our hearts for a blessed encounter at the altar.

Bible text: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone sn**ch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to sn**ch them out of My Father’s hand. " (John 10:27–29 )

After the closing prayer, the divine service was brought to a close as the choir sang the hymn “The Lord God Reigneth.”

A beautiful reminder to answer the call of Jesus.

Wellness Day

Today’s Health & Wellness Day was truly insightful and inspiring.

Our Medical Doctor shared valuable information on Diabetes, Cholesterol, Hypertension, and Cancer, helping us better understand how to care for our bodies.

Our Specialist Psychiatrist spoke passionately about Mental Health, Depression, and overall wellbeing, reminding us of the importance of looking after our minds too.

Attendees had the chance to ask thoughtful questions, engage in discussion, and enjoy some lovely refreshments together.

It was wonderful to see both the young and old making use of this opportunity to learn more about improving our health — for ourselves, our families, and our friends.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to today’s success!

Salvation In Jesus Christ

On Sunday, 06 July 2025, our Rector, Shepherd Alphonso Philander, conducted the Divine Service for the Departed in Parow Valley Congregation.

The Bible text for the Divine Service was taken from Romans 3:22b–23.

Community Evangelist Paul Cupido was called upon to serve alongside the Rector.

The message: Human beings can be saved in Jesus Christ.

After the Divine Service, the congregation enjoyed a warm time of fellowship over soup and bread. In a beautiful gesture of care, bunches of flowers were given to our senior members as a token of love and appreciation.

Additionally, our Young People went out to sing for the sick and infirm, spreading joy and comfort through music and presence.
