God Is With You

Isaiah 43:2 (NIV): “…When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow to the king’s decree, even after being threatened with death. They were fully persuaded that God would deliver them from the fiery furnace, but made sure the king understood that even if God did not save them from physical death, they would not submit to a wicked decree. These were three young men, full of faith and fully persuaded that God alone deserved the glory, praise, worship and honour. When they were marched towards the fire, the Lord supernaturally protected them. They walked through that fire and were not burned, the flames did not set them ablaze, their hair was not singed, and they didn’t even smell like smoke. In a world that is becoming more and more wicked, and the demands increase for us to bow to a higher level of wickedness, will we continue to stand for what we know is right? No matter the pressure to bow to unrighteousness, or even a slight compromise, we pray you will stand firm in your faith – both now, and forever, in Jesus Name!

The Holy Spirit In You

Isaiah 11:2 (KJV): "And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord."

This is how Jesus lived when He walked among us. The Holy Spirit rested upon Him. Yes, Jesus was filled with the Spirit of God, just as we are (Luke 4:1); but He also lived in a way that the Holy Spirit was able to rest upon Him. There was an outward demonstration of God's Presence on the Person of Jesus. He always welcomed, accommodated and yielded to the Holy Spirit. He deliberately chose to keep His flesh under the control of the Spirit. He didn't allow Himself to react to situations, but always relied on the Spirit of wisdom and understanding to govern Him. Before He spoke or acted, He drew from the council and strength of the Holy Spirit - never relying on His natural senses or knowledge. When Father God spoke, Jesus obeyed; when He perceived that His Father was moving in a certain direction, He followed - always loving and honouring Him. Jesus displayed the very image of God the Father, the Word of God made flesh. Jesus is our wonderful example. Not only did He model how to walk this earth in victory, He gave us the very secret: a life yielded to the Holy Spirit, living in and upon us.

Keep Working on Your Faith

Luke 18:8 (CSB): "When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?"

According to the Word, when it comes to faith, God has dealt to every person 'the measure of faith'. However, during Jesus' earthly ministry, He reprimanded the disciples for their "little faith", while applauding the Roman Centurion and Phoenician woman for their "great faith". Towards the end of His earthly ministry, He asked, "When I return, will I find faith in the earth?" This leads us to understand that since we all begin with the same measure of faith, it's up to each individual to either increase, maintain, or decrease in faith. Why is this so important? Paul made a point in teaching that having faith isn't just a good quality - it's essential for a life of victory on this earth. He instructs us to have it; and in Hebrews 11:6 we are told without it, it's impossible to please God. Since Jesus is coming back for His Bride (the Church), who will be without spot, wrinkle or blemish - a Bride who is glorious and victorious, having been fully transformed into His very image and likeness - we can assume she will be full of faith! Sadly, it might only be a remnant of believers who will persevere and keep the faith until the very end. No matter what you face in this life, make a decision above all to not give up on your faith in God and His Word! Keep your heart full of His truth and watch your faith increase and keep you strong - to the end!

Lord, Save Me!

Matthew 14:29-30 (NKJV): "So He said, "Come". And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!""

If there's one thing believers must be vigilant to ensure, it's to consistently focus on the Word of God. That day, when Peter focussed on Jesus - the Word made flesh - he remained above the rough waters. The trouble came as soon as he switched his focus from Jesus to the angry waves around him. That simple change of perspective changed everything. One moment he was defying the laws of nature, the next he became subject to them, as he began to sink. Just the same, when we remain focused on the Word of God, and anchored in its truth, we stay above the circumstances. Our hearts and minds remain protected in peace while our faith causes the Word to go to work on our behalf. As soon as we focus on the trouble instead of the promises of God, we begin to sink. Today, make the decision to focus on God's Word; let it lift you above the trouble and keep you walking in victory.

Seek God’s Will

Proverbs 3:6 (NLT): "Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take."

How would you measure success?According to the Word, daily obedience to God's perfect will for our lives is success. What would a successful life look like? It would be someone so surrendered to the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, their character resembles His own. It would look like someone who, in spite of challenges, is abounding in supernatural peace - and joy. This person would carry the life and light of God into every place he goes; and because the favour of God is on his life, whatever he puts his hand to prospers. According to the Word of God, this kind of success is absolutely accessible through a continuous, deliberate decision to surrender our wills to the Lord's will, each day. Choosing His ways above our own always sets us on a path to success. Understand: you have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing to empower and enable you to live the full, prosperous life of a covenant child of God. By your surrender to the Holy Spirit and a heart full of faith, success can be yours today!

Don't Give Up, Keep Pressing On

Philippians 3:12-14 (NLT): "...I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me... Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead... to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us."

Have you ever observed a runner training for a race? He runs with intention. His goal is to get to the end of that race as a winner. No athlete trains to lose or be defeated. That's why Paul describes the Christian life as a race. Our life of faith must be intentional. Everything we do for the kingdom is deliberate and on purpose. Jesus called us to be His ambassadors on this earth. We are called to carry His life, and light, and power. To live as He did: enforcing the enemy's defeat as we push back the darkness and see people set free. When we begin to live deliberately, leaning into our relationship with Jesus, pressing into the truth of His Word, and practicing to hear and obey His voice more accurately - we become spiritually strong. The Holy Spirit trains our senses to discern what is of God and what is not, keeping us in His perfect will for our lives. This way we won't only finish our race, we'll finish victoriously, obtaining the prize He has called us to enjoy.

God Is For You

1 Samuel 30:6 (AMPC): "...David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God."

The Bible reveals that David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord. In other words, he was not interested in religion, but a relationship in the living God. He didn't keep running to the man of God for encouragement and strength for the day, he ran to the God of all men. David was a man after God's own heart. Although he sinned and made many mistakes, he was repentant and continuously poured out his heart to the Lord. While we thank the Lord for our pastors - the shepherds who faithfully feed the sheep - we must understand our responsibility to grow up and mature in the ways of God. We all run the race calledlife and shall be held accountable for remaining faithful, with endurance, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus - the author and finisher of our faith. Today, immerse yourself in His Word; saturate your soul in His presence. Taste and see that He is good - to you!

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ

John 20:29 (NIV):"Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

The Bible stipulates God's children are to live by faith and not by sight. This means we don't rely on what we see in the natural to believe for what God has already provided for us in the spirit. It also means we are not moved, or swayed in our belief, when external circumstances appear to contradict what we believe for. In times like these, we choose to fix our eyes on Jesus, drawing strength from Him and His Words of truth. That's called having eyes of faith... Where our faith in Jesus is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not yet seen. Our eyes of faith give us the confidence to call what has been promised us into our natural world. The Greek word for "call" means to summon. When someone receives a summons, it's an order to appear, not a friendly suggestion. Today, with eyes full of faith, choose to speak words of faith and call what God has made available for you in the spiritual realm, to be manifest in the natural.

Focus on the Word

You're Called To Be Fruitful

John 15:2-3 (AMPC): "Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you]."

The first sign of a heart that's become calloused and hard towards the things of God is an un-teachable, indifferent attitude. When we let it, God's Word will constantly cut, cleanse, and prune away those things that block the flow of His love and power in our lives. It's God's love and power that keep us growing in Him, producing lasting fruit that reflects His nature and goodness in our lives. When we allow disappointment or sin to linger in us, we stop bearing fruit, and the flow of God's grace and power is stumped. In the natural, a branch produces fruit by the nutrients and water being fed to it. Just the same, the key to our lives producing spiritual fruit is by the constant flow of spiritual nourishment we receive from the Word of God, and the life of His Spirit. God's Word keeps us free from contamination and spiritual barrenness. So never despise its pruning work in your life. Let it abide in you, so you can live and be fruitful in the life Christ has called you to.
