Project: Keeping the masjid alive
Assalaamu Alaykum brothers and sisters
Every year when the month of Ramadan starts it seems as if the last one has just ended. One year has passed quickly and as time passes sometimes we lose the direction in our lives, getting caught up with day-to-day affairs, forgetting what we were created for and what is the purpose of our existence.
This year, with the permission of Allah, we would like to initiate a project to keep the masjid alive. The intention is that not a moment should pass where Quran is not recited in the masjid.
We will start on the first night and continue until the month of Ramadan ends, with intention of keeping this project going throughout the year aameen.
Males and females are welcome to come to the masjid and participate in keeping the masjid alive.
As you enter the masjid there will be a box with the 30 ajzaa booklets. You will take from the start box and if you finish your juz you will then place it in the finish box. If you do not manage to finish reading your juz you will place it in the busy box. Anyone can take from the busy box as well and just continue reading. Males will sit in the main section of the masjid and females in the ladies section. Our intention should be purely for the pleasure of Allah, therefore we will not have any communication on the Westgate chat groups regarding our time spent in the masjid.
The idea is to have someone reading Quran at all times in the masjid. So your intention should be to stay at least for a few hours just incase somebody doesn't come to relieve you sooner.
If you need to leave then contact me and I will come or arrange for someone else to relieve you.
The nieyyah when starting to recite should be the love for the Quraan and that we inculcate the orders of Allaah in our daily lives, asking Allaah to ease all our affairs and the rewards will also go to all our deceased. May Allaah grant and make this small effort from our side become a reality and may it run as smooth as possible only to gain the pleasure of Allaah aameen.
