2 Samuel 9v1
"And David said, is there anyone left from the house of Saul, whom I can show mercy, for the sake of Jonathan?"
I am writing these devotion with the purpose of encouraging one person who has lost the zeal to serve God. We cannot ignore the fact that in the church of Christ there are believers who have lost it or backslided.
I want to encourage you to soldier on. You are building a legacy for your family. One day God will remember you and bless your family for your own sake. One day God will remember you and bless your children for your own sake. David showed his kindness to mephibosheth not because he qualifies, but for the sake of his father Jonathan. Mephibosheth did not qualify to eat with the king, but mercy made it possible.
As I am closing, I want you to live a kind life, having mercy to people around you. Lend a helping hand where it is needed. Feed the needy. Be of service to those who need you. When you serve people, you serve God. One day God will return that kindness.
do not give up. Serve God in and out of season. Build a legacy that will move God. David did it for the sake of Jonathan. God can do it for your own sake.
