Class of 2024...

It was a pleasure being their teacher at the winter camp. Moments like these, serve as a reminder of who God is and why He created me.

While we teach them, they also teach us teachers a thing or two. It's all about how you choose to look at them and relate to them.

Some of them, all they need is to be loved, listened to, cared for and learning becomes possible and fun.

I wish you all the best in life guys. Remember the story of the pencil. NEVER QUIT NO MATTER WHAT....

It's has been a while since I posted on this page.

As we celebrated the class of 2023, with mixed emotions, we can only say: To God be the Glory for He knows best.

There are so many views about the results of 2023 cohort. All I can say is well done to those that did well and passed their matric.

To those that did not make it, NEVER GIVE UP. You have it in you to make it...just give it your best shot in 2024.

To the teachers who sacrificed their family times to teach beyond the academic schedule, I take my hat off for you. I salute you.

2024 is a new year with a different cohort. Do your best without losing yourself.

Tips for both teachers and learners

1. Take care of your health.
2. Protect your peace
3. Do not suffer in silence. Ask for help if needs be.
4. Rest if you must to ensure focus and good performance.
5. Be part of a community that speaks your language in the context of goals.
6. Set realistic goals that are attainable.
7. Fight the spirit of procrastination for it steals growth and production.
8. Never leave what you can do today for tomorrow. Deal with each day's load on the same day.
9. Engage your peers for support and encouragement.
10. Know your style of learning if you are a learner. As teachers, acknowledge the diversity of your class and teach accordingly.

* Check how you speak to yourself.
* Be kind to yourself and become your own cheerleader.
* Love the person you are and acknowledge your flaws.
* No one is unteachable unless you choose not to. Choose wisely.

***2024 is another year full of its blessings and opportunities. Let us focus on making it a successful year.

This is how we closed the intervention camp yesterday. They will definitely be missed by me as their teacher.

I learned so much from them. May the hand of God be upon each one of them all the days of their lives.

They made teaching and learning fun. Unity and love were part of the culture. Feedback/feedforward was a must in all the sessions. A way to unlearn; relearn and learn for all parties.

I salute the class of 2023.

Today we are throwing it back to a week ago, when we formally introduced "Rock and Rod: neglected ground with Lebogang Lesetedi"!! It was an exhilarating time as we unveiled our mission, vision & what we aim to achieve through this brand!

Rock and Rod was birthed by Lebogang Lesetedi. She is an accredited Executive & Management Coach who specialises in transformational coaching, she is a qualified Christian Counselor, a Life Coach & Motivational Speaker, and a Teacher by profession.

Through this brand, she hopes to hold hands with you to create a platform that touches people’s hearts, and capture their mind through education that is transformational. She hopes to work together with you to care for and to purpose to remediate societal issues which has left our neighbourhoods with a void (which she has termed ‘the neglected ground’) ...
