*UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION*

*BIBLE READING: ROMANS 9:4; GALATIANS 4:5-7; EPHESIANS 1:5*

*“For ye have not received the spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of Adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father!” Romans 8:15(KJV)*

After we have been purchased unto Redemption through the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Scripture declares that the Holy Spirit was given to us as a Mark of Ownership and Seal till the Day we will be raptured. *(Eph. 1:13)* The Scripture declares that the Lord God Almighty is the One *“Who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a Guarantee.”* 2Cor. 1:22(KJV) The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Adoption given to seal and authenticate our exclusive position as the children of God. The Scripture also declares that *"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."* Rom. 8:16-17(NKJV) Hallelujah! We have been adopted into the Family of God and made partakers of His Divine Nature through the Spirit of Adoption unto sonship. Glory to God!

The Scripture also declares the magnitude of this reality of our adoption into God's Own Household: *"And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."* Gal. 4:6-7(NKJV) Glory to God! This places us on the Same Level as Christ Jesus Himself and it is for this reason He isn't ashamed to call us His brethren. *(Heb. 2:11)*

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of being called Your sons and for the Gift of the Holy Spirit given to us through Grace in Christ Jesus. To You alone do we ascribe the Glory in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

*FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 2022*

*THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE*

*BIBLE READING: HEBREWS 8:1-13; HEBREWS 9:11-28; HEBREWS 10:3-20*

*"Whereas this One [Christ], after He had offered a Single Sacrifice for our sins [that shall avail] for all time, sat down at the Right Hand of God." Hebrews 10:12(AMP)*

The question could reasonably be asked, "Why did God institute the sacrificial system in the first place? Why require from men what was inadequate and inefficient?" Different answers may be offered, but the earlier quotation from Hebrews indicates that we needed to be educated about sin and sacrifice in order to appreciate the Ultimate Sacrifice of Christ.

Animal sacrifice was inadequate for several reasons. Each animal sacrifice was involuntary, amoral and qualitatively different from the sinner on whose behalf it was offered. The intrinsic value of human beings, who are uniquely God’s Image-bearers, could not be adequately represented by an animal. Rather, an Appropriate Sacrifice must be fully human in value and capacity. At the same time, the Sacrifice needed to be Spotless and Unblemished, which disqualifies all of us because of the utter depravity of the human heart. *(Rom. 3:23).*

The Bible reveals that in the story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis chapter 22, God tested Abraham’s devotion to the limit, but would not allow the sacrifice of Isaac. Abraham’s faith that God would provide for Himself a sacrifice was realized in a ram caught in a thicket and offered instead of Isaac.

It is in Abraham’s prescient words to Isaac, *“God will provide for Himself the lamb”* (Gen. 22:8) that the solution is found. Jesus Christ came as the *“Lamb of God”* (Jn. 1:29). The Father and the Son met at the Place of Sacrifice and in this case the Son was the Sacrifice we needed. *(Jn. 3:16)*

The Lord Jesus Christ not only met every qualification necessary in order to be an Acceptable Sacrifice for sin, but in His Death legitimized the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament which pictured His once for all work on Calvary. *(Rom. 3.25).*

In other words, the Lord Jesus was fully qualified to be the Perfect Sacrifice being genuinely human yet at the same time infused with Divinity as Co-Eternal and Co-Equal with the Father. He was in every way a Moral Being, having complete knowledge of good and evil yet remaining without sin despite the temptations *(Heb. 4:15).* Furthermore, His Desire to be the Perfect Substitute for sinners is described in Hebrews 10. He willingly came into the world to perform this service and thereby *“offered One Sacrifice for sins forever”* (Heb. 10:12). As a result, *“by One Offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified”* (Heb. 10:14).

Jesus’ Sacrifice on our behalf satisfies both aspects of substitution. He took our place as the Bearer of sin’s penalty and we take our place in Him in all His Perfections as our Representative before God. These twin aspects are beautifully seen when Paul writes that in the Sacrifice of Christ God *“made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the Righteousness of God in Him”* (2 Cor. 5.21).

Because Jesus' Sacrifice on the Cross has forever satisfied God with respect to the sins of His people, there is no longer any other sin offering He accepts *(Heb. 10:18).* The vital question to ask is this: Do I have a Relationship with God? This was from the beginning the ultimate purpose of sacrifice therefore, the restoration of a Broken Relationship with God. The way into a Genuine Relationship with God has always been by faith, not human works or religious ritual. *(Heb. 6:1)* But in Old Testament times, the very act of offering an animal sacrifice demonstrated faith in God’s Revealed Plan of Salvation. That Salvation reached its Climax in the Cross of Jesus Christ.

Just like the Israelite who came to the altar with his animal sacrifice, we must lay our hands on Christ, identifying ourselves with Him as our Substitute through Whom we are acceptable before God *(Eph. 1:6-7).* Any other offering will be rejected, like Cain’s, as inadequate.

The responsibility of believers, those who have already trusted Christ, is to approach God boldly in faith. *(Heb. 4:12)* All genuine Christians have an appreciation of the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This is our core belief, without which no one can be right with God. From the beginning, sacrifice was inaugurated by God. Indeed, three times in history, He provided the victim. First, in the Garden He instituted sacrifice on behalf of rebellious Adam and Eve. Second, in response to Abraham’s faith He provided a substitute for Isaac. Finally, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be the Sacrifice to end all sacrifices. This Sacrifice satisfied the claims of justice so that He has been freely able to forgive all who come to God by Him *(Heb. 7:25).* The Adequacy and Completeness of Christ Jesus' Sacrifice for sin was confirmed by His Resurrection from the dead, for He *“was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised again because of our justification”* (Rom. 4:25).

Father Lord, please give me a Revelation of the Ultimate Sacrifice of Christ Jesus and grant me the Grace to walk in the Light of it in Jesus' Name. Amen.

*DOMINION MANDATE DAILY DEVOTIONAL*

*THURSDAY, APRIL 14, 2022*

*FORBIDDEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT*

*BIBLE READING: ACTS 16:6-7; ROMANS 8:14*

*“Now when they had gone throughout Phygria and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the Word in Asia.” Acts 16:6(KJV)*

From the Scripture above, we can see that the Apostles were forbidden by the Holy Ghost to preach the Gospel in Asia, hence the need of mastering and following the Guidance of the Holy Spirit, Who is the Chief Commander of the Harvest as far as the Great Commission is concerned. A carnal minded person may question: Why then were they forbidden contrary to the scripture that commands us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation? *(Mk. 16:15)* But the Ways of God are different from the ways of man. He is the All-Knowing or Omniscient God and He causes everything to line with the Counsel of His Pleasure. It was the Will of God that the Gospel should be preached in Asia but the timing hadn’t come.

The God that we serve is a God of times of seasons and the Scripture declares *“He makes all things beautiful in His Time...”* (Ecc. 3:11). The Plans and Purposes of God have a specific timing for them. He told Habakkuk to write the vision but He also told him to note that the vision is for an Appointed Time. *(Hab. 2:2-3).* There are 3 major kinds of Time:

*1. Your time.*
*2. Other people’s time.*
*3. God’s Time.*

In other words, there is a Divine Timing/Season for everything under the sun. *(Ecc 3:1).* Not understanding Divine Timing is the reason many have missed God because you can do the right thing at the wrong time.

Whenever God tells you something (a vision, purpose, promise, a word), you need to find out from Him or rather be spiritually sensitive to discern the right season for it's fulfilment.
God told Daniel to seal up the Book for the Timing was reserved for later days. *(Dan. 10:14; Heb. 6:12; Heb. 10:36).* The children of Issachar were blessed because they had an understanding of the Times and Seasons knowing what Israel ought to do and all their brethren were at their command. *(1Chron. 12:32).* That’s why getting Prophetic Direction and being Spiritually Sensitive to the Leading of the Spirit is very critical to having a great walk with the Lord and the fulfillment of our God given Purpose and Destiny.

*PRAYER:*

Father, please help us to be Spiritually alert to Divine Guidance so we won’t venture into things forbidden by the Spirit as we carry out Your Heavenly Mandate and Vision in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

*WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13, 2022*

*THE FOUR LEVELS OF THE ANOINTING*

*BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 47:1-5, JOHN 7:37-39; EPHESIANS 1:18-19*

*“He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow Rivers of Living Water.”John 7:38(KJV)*

There is a River of Life that indwells every believer through the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Scripture declares, *“In Him dwells all the Fullness of the Godhead Bodily and you are complete in Him...”* Col. 2:9-10. We must learn how to turn on the River of Life locked up in our Spirit man hence the importance of praying in the Holy Ghost. Paul admonished us to pray always in all prayers and supplication in the Spirit *( Eph. 6:18).* Praying in the Spirit is like activating your generator to enable the flow of power out of our belly i.e., the Greek word "koelia" which literally means "the innermost being" *(Jn. 7:38).* As we learn the discipline of praying always in the Spirit, we unleash the Power of the Omnipotent God living inside of us for Christ in us is the Hope of Glory. *(Col. 1:27).*

There are Four Levels of the Anointing:

1.Ankle Deep Level *(Jn. 20:22)*
This refers to the Anointing for Living or the Beginner’s Anointing obtained at the New Birth Experience.

2.Knee Deep Level *(Lk. 4:1).*
This refers to the Anointing for Ministry and this level is attained after Holy Ghost Baptism.

3.Waist Deep Level *(Lk. 4:14)*
This refers to the Anointing for Dominion and involves a Fire Baptism.

4.Overflowing Level. *(Jn. 3:34)*
This refers to the Anointing without Measure or the Corporate Anointing. This Level can never be attained by any individual Christian believer but only by the Church. *(Matt.18:20)*

*PRAYER:*

Father, please help us through the Ability of the Holy Spirit to maintain the discipline of always praying in the Spirit so we can always be full of the Holy Ghost for your Holy Purposes to be established in us and flow through us to our generation in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

*TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 2022*

*THE BONES SHALL RISE AGAIN*

*BIBLE READING: EZEKIEL 37:1-10; JOB 14:7-9; MARK 11:22-24; EPHESIANS 2:4-5*

*“So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ Therefore, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.” Ezekiel 37:10-14(NKJV)*

In the Book of the Beginnings, God was introduced as the Creator who made Heavens and the Earth. *(Gen. 1-2)* All things made were good and He holds all of Creation together as the Supreme Sovereign. *(Col. 1:17).* However, the Fall of Man in the Garden affected the Trinity’s Divine Agenda and the Dominion of Man was ceded to the god of this world *(2Cor. 4:3-4)* who has implemented the agenda he had in Heaven before he was thrown down. *(Isa. 14:13-14)* He has continued his threefold agenda which is to kill, to steal and to destroy. *(Jn. 10:10)* As a result of the activities of satan and demons, creation has been subject to bo***ge and the system became deplorable just like what was depicted in the Vision of Ezekiel in the Valley of the Dry Bones -:*“… set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed, they were very dry.”* Ezek. 37:1b-2(NKJV).

Prophet Ezekiel was faced with a hopeless situation because the valley was full of dry bones which were totally disjointed and void of any trace of moisture, indicating years of desolation. The Scripture tells us emphatically that *"with God nothing will be impossible."* (Lk. 1:37) With the prophetic command given by God and the Move of the Spirit, each bone located its bone no matter how far away, finally paving the way for the emergence of an exceeding great army *(Ezek. 37:10).* The Spirit of God has Inherent Power to revive and redeem any seemingly hopeless situation.

The Vision also highlights the Restoration of Israel which has a Scriptural Parallel between national Israel and the Church of Jesus Christ. The Church is the Spiritual Israel *(Gal. 3:29)* and the valley of the dry bones represents the Church. God uses Ezekiel (a watchman) to bring restoration to the bones or the Church which is God’s Strategy for His End Time Move in reaping the overripe Harvest. We are to yield totally, trust and partner with God by playing the role of a watchman reviving any dead thing or condition.

Are there issues or challenges looking extremely impossible to overcome? Remember the Lord Himself is still asking this question: *"Is anything too hard for the Lord?"* (Gen.18:14a) One major key to activating the prophetic is the Hand of the Lord which must come upon you to make your words effective. The Earth may be without form and void, and darkness upon the face of the deep, but if the Spirit of God hovers over the troubled waters of your life, there would be a turnaround. *(Gen. 1:3)*

Heavenly Father, I commit my valley of dry bones into Your Able Hands and believe You for a Mighty Intervention and Revival in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

*MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2022*

*HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST*

*BIBLE READING:JOHN 12:12-19; MARK 1:1-11; LUKE 19:11-44; PSALM 118:25-26*

*“Most of the crowd spread their coats on the road [as before a king], while others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of Him, and those that followed Him, were shouting [in praise and adoration], “Hosanna to the Son of David (Messiah); Blessed [praised, glorified] is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the Highest [Heaven]!” When He entered Jerusalem, all the city was trembling [with excitement], saying, “Who is this?” And the crowds were saying, “This is the Prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.” Matthew 21:8-11(AMP).*

The Cross of Jesus Christ is truly the Crux of History because without the former, the latter itself cannot be defined or corrected. The week that heralded the Passion of Christ is known as the “Passion Week” (or Holy Week). Passion Week is the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. In Jesus' Life, the week began with the Triumphal Entry *(Matt. 21:1-11)* which encompasses the display of both the Strong Emotions and the Sufferings of Christ. A major fulfilment of Prophecy and the Jewish Expectation of the Messiah *(1 Chron. 17:11-14)* was fulfilled when the large crowd shouted "Hosanna in the Highest Heaven!" *Matt. 28:9(AMP).*

The word "Hosanna" comes from a Hebrew word meaning “save now” or “save us, we pray.” The first word of Psalm 118:25 is "howosiah-na," translated “Save us!” and the crowd’s use of this word at the Triumphal Entry was significant—especially as they waved palm branches since Psalm 118 was associated with the Feast of Tabernacles. By saying “Hosanna” as Jesus passed through the gates of Jerusalem and referring to David and his kingdom, the Jews were acknowledging Jesus as their Messiah. They had been waiting a long time for the fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant *(2Sam. 7)* and their shouts of “Hosanna in the Highest” indicated the hope that their Messiah had finally come to set up God’s Kingdom there and then. *(Lk. 19:11).*

Jesus’ Purpose for riding into Jerusalem was to make public His Rightful Claim to the Throne of David as well as His Messiahship in fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecy. Apostle Matthew says that the King coming on the foal of a donkey was an exact fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9: *“Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, Righteous and having Salvation, Gentle and riding on a donkey, on a c**t, the foal of a donkey.”* Jesus rides into His Capital City as a Conquering King and is hailed by the people as such, in the manner of the day. The streets of Jerusalem, the royal city, are open to Him and like a King He ascends to His Palace. This is not a temporal palace but the Spiritual Palace that is the Temple, because His is a Spiritual Kingdom.

In the end, Jesus’ Crucifixion, Death and Resurrection were the reasons why He came to Earth. This was the way He would go on to pay the debt and save humanity. Hosanna teaches us that God had a Plan of Redemption and came through with it. God saves and redeems His beloved children. When you are going through trials, hardships or sinfulness, it is only God Who can save you. It is through Jesus that we receive the Gift of Salvation and enjoy real and lasting freedom and Eternal Life. Hosannah in the Highest!

Father, we thank You for the Cross that redefined human existence and restored us back to the Commonwealth of Christ. As we celebrate Your Passion, we pledge to partner with You in finishing the Work You started at Gethsemane and the Cross in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.

*FRIDAY, APRIL 8, 2022*

*THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: HIS EMOTIONS*

*BIBLE READING: 1SAMUEL 11:6; ISAIAH 63:10; MATTHEW 3:16; MATTHEW 12:31-32; JAMES 4:5*

*"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by Whom you were sealed for the Day of Redemption." Ephesians 4:30(NKJV)*

The final proof of the Personality of the Holy Spirit is the Presence of His Emotions. To recap our previous devotionals, the soul comprises of three dimensions:
(1.) The Mind i.e., thinker.
(2.) The Will i.e., chooser.
(3.) The Emotions i.e., feeler.
We have established the Fact of the Holy Spirit possessing a Personal Mind *(Rom. 8:27)* as well as a Personal Will. *(1Cor. 12:11)* The Final Evidence that He has a Soul, thereby proving Him to be a Person, is His Emotions.

The Truth is that the Holy Spirit is the Most Emotional and Sensitive Member of the Godhead. When Jesus was being baptized, the Scripture tells us that the Holy Spirit descended upon Him like a Dove. *(Matt. 3:16b)* This doesn't mean that He alighted upon the Lord in the form of a dove. Rather, the use of a simile describes the Holy Spirit as being Gentle like a Dove. The Third Person in the Trinity is the Perfect Gentleman Who never forces Himself on anyone. He manifests where He's being celebrated rather than where He's being tolerated. *(Gen. 6:3)* His Presence awakens within us a tender conscience. He gets grieved whenever He senses sin or defilement around His Habitation. *(Isa. 63:10)* He also causes the Fruit of the Spirit, particularly Love, to overwhelm our hearts. *(Rom. 5:5)* He also inspires Holy Indignation within us, causing us to confront evil and wrongdoing. *(1Sam. 11:6)* May our emotions henceforth be a clear reflection of His, that we may continually have a conscience void of offence towards both God and man. *(Acts 24:16)*

*PRAYER:*

Heavenly Father, we exalt You for the Gift of the Holy Spirit. O Precious Holy Spirit, please cause us to manifest nothing but Your Emotions in all our dealings in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen
